Hi MJ, thank you for all your videos.. They are helpful for me. I'm currently studying towards CFA and it's scary but I'm excited.. Actuarial Science sounds interesting and your videos gives me an understanding about this course.. Thank you
I'm playing with the idea of becoming an actuary. I know that it is hard but I believe if I put in the time to study I can do it. Hello sir, how far along are you with the exams and how long did it take to get to that point?
Hi MJ, I am in Matric at the moment Actuarial Science looks like the only true career for me. I am just a bit unsure of the board exams after university. How many is there to write and how long does it take as an estimate - to complete them.
yeah they are difficult, but after getting a degree in Actuarial Science you will be ready for them. the secret with the board exams is not to fear failure, just keep writing them until you pass. it is possible :)
hey I'm not good at math,I just got marks enough to pass ,I'm thinking to get into this career ,do you think it's possible if I try ,I mean I'll try to give my best ,no doubt abt that
Shaun Ferns with maths, practise makes perfect. get a good grasp of the fundamentals and then slowly take on more challenging problems. then you will improve
MJ the Student Actuary no, but I'll have to find it. Don't think Ifoa lists it anywhere; not as a specialist. But when I worked in banking, I did product
MJ the Student Actuary we had similar discussions at the office about retail product revenue distribution, and the answers to the one questions are exactly in line with the discussions we had re performance and the solvency, liquidity and feduciary attributes desired at the bank... I hit that shit out the park!
Not an actuary, but a CA, and i strongly suspect that no one passed this because no one really prepared? I mean come on! Just looking at the questions, some of my final exams had a 50 mark question alone covering 6 pages with tons of data to synthesise under 1.5 hours.
There was also a paper in Indian actuary where nobody passed

Hi MJ,
Thanks for your videos.
Please note that the syllabus of Banking Fellowship overlaps with FRM/ Treasury Syllabus.

I dare to say accounting students in honours can pass these questions, the theory ones at least 😄.

Hi mj, do you need to pay for the exams?
Yes!! They are very expensive!! Which is good motivation to study for them!! But if you are employed, then your boss should pay for them!
