    There is at least one restaurant in Paris, France that has pigeon on the menu.

    In Egypt, pigeons are a relatively common delicacy. However, something i discovered compared to other countries is that the pigeons bred for consumption are different from the ones that are common in Europe and the Americas

    Yes people eat pigeon, I knew it was sometimes available in supermarket in my country (although it is not a common thing to eat), so i did a quick search, it is consumed, among others, in china, italy and france.
    I was put off by it cause when I read pigeon I was thinking about that fat sick bird in cities, turns out, pigeon specificaly bred for consumption is not the same.

    My favorite pigeonhole principle problem is calculating the probability that there exist two people in the US with the exact same number of hairs on their heads (not including bald people). It's easy to reason that there are fewer than ten million hairs on even the hairiest of heads, but there are more than 300 million people in the US - By reasoning of the pigeonhole principle, there must exist at least two people with the exact same number of hairs on their head, so the probability is 1.

    Any chance you could do a resume of the attempts to prove/disprove the twin-prime conjecture? It's starting to annoy me.

    Why does the definition use the floor plus one rather than the ceiling? Do you know? I suppose the floor is slightly easier to calculate (and arguably is a step in calculating the ceiling function)

    • @nothingbutmathproofs7150
      @nothingbutmathproofs7150 17 часов назад

      That's a simple one--the ceiling function does not work all the time. For example, the floor of 2 + 1 = 2 + 1 =3. However, the ceiling of 2 is 2!! Now if you don't have an integer like in the floor of 2.3 + 1 = 2+1 =3 = ceiling of 2.3
