To me, Loc’d hair is more of a spiritual journey. Some journeys are long, some are not… it’s also a very personal journey. What others are doing have nothing to do with a personal spiritual journey. And that’s why wise ones say, never compare yourself to others or vice versa.
I don't have micro locs, yet i felt that way. For me i started to do self concept affirmations and show myself more love and i haven't once thought to cut my Locs
Being loc’d takes you on a path of spirituality and growth and a lot of times we don’t realize that. It’s definitely not just a hair style but a lifestyle.
Yes specifically black women need to think long and hard about locs, cause we cant leave our hair alone and we give hair more importance to hair, than most people
Unbeknownst to us women. Getting locs is a spiritual journey that involves letting go of the spiritual tie to vanity. Especially if you were a woman who wore a lot of weave/hairstyles. Getting loc'd or going completely " natural." Is a journey in loving your authentic beauty and being ok with not so many male encounters as before going natural/ getting locs😊❤ Once you get over that, your confidence will shine through.
I have had my hair natural for about 20 yrs. From short to locks to bald to locks and now I have loose natural hair and I struggle with not cutting it all off. I love locks and I enjoy learn about my loose natural curls but this is the most challenging journey I’ve been on, I try to think about what’s best for me in the long run.
I dont understand. Is it not possible to braid your locs into those styles? Ive seen Chloe and Halle Bailey do different braided styles and they have locs
U think u could braid urself down. I feel u this girl. I have just kinky hair w no heat but I’m so grateful we have the space and ability to be our whole selves. The girls doing the other styles usually don’t have your thickness. U prob put some setting lotion and rods in and it’ll still give sleek. As a singer, I know me not wearing wigs died slow me down some so I think about it daily.
