I cried from stressing myself trying to study this for my quiz tomorrow morning, found this video & now I just wanna give you a hug for helping me out. Thank you so much for this video! Keep up the good work!
I know a trick my friend made up. If you are trying to fill in a unit circle for degrees, than say, "30, 15, 15, 30, 30, 15, 15, 30." Until you are done filling it out. It would look like this on the circle: 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 135, 150, 180, 210, 225, 240, 270, 300, 315, 330, 360. Keep adding 30 then 15 then 15 then 30 until you get to the end. Hope this helps.
@@gacalka this trick is just an easy way to write all of the degrees for the unit circle from 0 to 360. If you fill out the radians of the circle first, then you can see what radian is equal to which degree.
@@MonkeyGoatLicker wouldn’t it also be easy to use a calculator then if it’s filling a whole table? Wait, how are the values of the sines, cosines, and tangents of those angles obtained? By use of mind trick or a calculator?
@@gacalka this trick is used to figure the angle numbers. Look up on Google: "The Unit Circle" for a good example. If you want to find sin, cos, and tan then look at coordinates points. Example: (1/2, √3/2) or (0, 1)
So, the Tangent would be the number of fingers on the right of the degree divided by the number of fingers on the left of the degree, and then the square root of that, i.e., the TAN of 60 would be sqrt (3/1); the TAN of 45 would be sqrt (2/2); the TAN of 30 would be sqrt (1/3).
@@jiminbang5822 Once I just talked about Money Hiest with my Friend I haven't even watched it..... But I randomly got 2,3 Videos about Money Hiest reviews in my Recommendations. Lol ✌️
I think it would make more sense to number the fingers 0,1,2,3,4 - clockwise for cosine, counterclockwise for sine. Then, just take the square root of that number over 2.
There are several ways to make things easier. You could remember the Sin() values in order from Sin(0) to Sin(90) as sqrt(x/4) with x varied from 0 to 4, then the Cos() would be the same values but invert their order. Afterwards Tan() is just solving Sin()/Cos(). Another way is to visualize rows for Sin() and Cos(), Sin() on top, with 30, 45 and 60 degrees as columns, then fill it left to right starting from top left "1,2,3, 3,2,1 ", divide everything by 2 and the numerators get a sqrt except for the ones with 1. You won't get values for 0 or 90 degrees but those are easy if you understand what Sin() and Cos() are on the trig circle.
FYI this does the whole circle, this is just the first quadrant. Only thing that changes is the signs (+ or -). If the x values are negative then the cosine is negative, and if the y values are negative than sine is negative. So figure out the quadrant and slap on the right negatives and you can do any angle not just up to 90.
@kipskip_1203 yes it is the same other than the sign. You can put it in you calculator to double check if you need. Supplementary angles will always give you the same sin and cos just with a different sign ( + or - ) depending on the quadrant the angle ends in. For 135 degrees it is in the second quadrant so the cos will be negative because the x axis is negative, but the sin will stay the same because it is the same positive y value. 225 degrees will return the same value as well, but both sin and cos will be negative because the x and y values are negative in the bottom left quadrant.
Handy trick ;) But still better to remember 1-1-sqrt(2) and 1-2-sqrt(3) right angle triangles. The physical meanings of sin, cos and tan are built into this triangle method, which is what you need to USE trig. Is this too standard to be worth a video?
I'm studying for A/L's these days. This looks like a nice 'handy little trick', but I feel like remembering those values is better and simpler 😅 Anyway this is useful indeed when we're forgotten any of those values.

I just try to remember that cos(30) = sqrt(3)/2 is the distance on the x axis and has to be larger than cos(60) = 1/2 since 30 degrees is closer to 0 degrees and cos(0)=1
In the last example, you change the sides to which you assign the sin and cos. In the first two examples sin is to the right and cos to the left, in the last example you switch them when you explain it, but I think that happened because you use 45 degrees, so the answer is the same for sin and cos.

Thabani Chagi ya I don’t get that either. Although it makes sense it’s wrong
it's because you need to rationalize it that's why i turned into 2/2
Don't worry, both, what you were taught and his answer, are the same number just written differently.
Either rationalize it OR
as 2=√2*√2, write this in the denominator and it cancels the √2 in the numerator so you're left with 1/√2
Thank You!!!
