0:20 Cv learns that Halland has wooster like aa the hard way. Still remembered one game where enemy cv kept on targeting a Worcester and Montana which had fighter cover . Halfway into the game we saw no enemy planes in the air at all.
Agreed. It's a very different style for me, more team-support oriented. I could imagine though that for some who get their satisfaction from large damage numbers, they'll be disappointing. You can rack up floods in mid-tier easily, but in top tiers, it's getting a lot more difficult.
Dang, I haven't played the game in a long time because I had to remove it for school. Now that it's summer and school's ended I'm gonna try to grind this tech tree :D
Mate I really enjoy this battle and definitely your opinion about a correct tactics in the game, do not steak to just making damage, Thanks for brilliant info as always
I am really interested in this line, i have only reached the visby very recently and i didnt even had my first game in her yet but it looks like these ships are pretty fun
This has been a nasty surprise for lots of DDs. Once people get used to it, it'll be less effective, but right now, it's just hilarious. I can see the "oh crap" expression every time.
the rest of the battle was boring, so I just used it for the opening sequence. But that's the power of Halland - no-fly zone. I actually should have used my defensive AA for the torpedo planes, misplay by me there, fortunately CV didn't drop us from the sides.
I’m loving these new Swedish DD’s! I just got to the vastras and so far they’ve been pretty fun to play! My ultimate goal is the Oland for now since it just gets expensive and takes so long to unlock tier 9 and 10 ships.
Yeah the only non Swede is tier II. The tier III Romulus is Italian built but served in the Swedish navy right after its completion but I would still call her a Swedish ship just like Tashkent was built in Italy but served in the Soviet navy.
These new DDs come out and wow... Suddenly battles have become barfights with torps just zinging all over the place from everywhere... Last night there were so many battles with 4 or more DDs it was nuts. I went to bed early LOL!!🤣🤣
Wait, I just realised that the khaba in the intro that was referred to as "my khaba" was the same khaba that was on the opposite side in the first match :(
One time I gunned down a Worcester in my Friesland. He was distracted shooting at my teammates holding them at bay so I came around the other side of the island he was hiding behind and pumped him full of shells. 3 permafires and almost all of my health but I took him down with no torps.
I liked play the line to t6 and love the playstyle. Do you Think it's worth spend free xp to get them quick for the event rewards when I know I will like them and grind them anyways?Do you think they will be nerf it soon? Then it would be waste of the free xp
@Fun and games with Terry, could you please do a review for Lexington? Maybe you’ve done one but I can’t find the video lol. I’m experimenting with the builds for her and I’d like to get some tips from someone like you 🙂
Please do a review on the whole line! I’m trying to grind, so it would really help! I also wanna learn new tactics for launching Swedish meatballs outta ikea launchers
Halland is what I expected Friesland to be initially. A ship that is lots of fun to play, but is kinda sub-par. I think Halland would greatly benefit from some buffs but she is still very much a playable ship
That's why I've been so focused on setting expectations during the review - I don't see this as a ship that can easily do 100k damage consistently, but more as a ship that, if you have it on your team, is immensely useful. Just the AA and radar combo all but ensures a cap, you can escort friendly DDs, I would say I play her much more in the role I normally take in light cruisers.
@@FunandGameswithTerry So far, there's nothing that would make me consider Halland over simply using Friesland in a tier 10 platoon. Sure, Friesland is pretty vulnerable up close but it's not like Halland does much better in that aspect either.
I'm honestly surprised about how one tier and .4s of reload can change a ship from outgunning almost all her peers to being outgunned by everything that isn't Shimakaze and Somers.
I haven't played Khaba myself, so can't really say how well the HE works. He may not have expected to be shooting at Gearing, given that he smoked the second he saw us. Still feeling for that poor Gearing.
Hi Terry do you think that it is worth it to complete the battle honers on the Lyon? cuz i only need 40k more xp till Gascogne and i'm having a hard time with the battle honers i still need 15 more cl kills and that is only the 2nd battle honer
Battle honours on the tech tree ships can be a frustrating grind. They often take longer to complete than the XP grind to the next ship. I did that on the Roon, and boy that wasn't fun :) What I often do is move on to the next tier in the regular grind, but then do a "honours run" with a second commander. For example, I'm currently at the Seattle, and I'll probably complete the honours there before I move on to Worcester, but I've got a second commander on the Brooklyn atm completing the honours there, who will then move on and stay at Cleveland. I'm not planning to keep Seattle, but Cleveland I will. One thing to mention is that when you sell a ship and buy it again, the blueprint research will remain, i.e. I sold the Brooklyn before on the first grind, but bought it again later, I don't need to put in blueprints again - important if you're short on ship slots.
Other good things when you sold and buy after the same tech tree ship, you can update the elite bonus. Good thing if you want to change the elite bonus without use gold (you loose silver, but more easy to win for free in the game). For the honor mission. When I have grind the line, the honor mission are upgraded on the line, just before I unlock the République... Good thing to go back on the line after more of experience. For the Lyon it's really easy to make the honor mission on the resapaw mode or blitz royal. Because you have a lot of this mode in t7😉 The honor mission to kill XX cruisers is a joke. It's easy but hard, because you don't kill one or more cruiser in random battles by games. In resapaw, easy, really. Make on one weekend on my Lyon.
Other ships : Please look away carrier fly away planes European destroyers : Come My plane ,I have a free ticket to visit your Creator ,ohh Hes already sent to god
Not as much as with other DDs I'd assume, given that the torp alpha damage is relatively low - they're basically carrier-dropped torps, and some higher tier ships have pretty good torpedo damage reduction. I'd still take it, since nothing else makes much sense.
They're meh if you're after damage, at least in higher tiers, when people are a bit more aware of DoT mechanics. But oh boy are they fun as support ships, which is a playstyle I quite enjoy.
Imagine a division with this thing , Mino, Worcester and Montana or Des Moines 😁?
Cv will be like *reeeeeee*
Nice vid Terry
Halland / DM / CV.... Nightmare division

I’ve been so excited for this line to finally release. Currently grinding and I can’t wait to get the Halland.
"I have a Mino and Im not afraid to use it"
Halland can't do all that much by itself. But pair up with someone to keep CVs at bay, and radar things, and suddenly you've got a deadly combo.
Maybe pair up with my shima lol
All the guns and torps

Counter CV/CV scort full Anti-AA is so fun when the game actually match you with carriers

I love whenever you call a ship that can kill you easily unhealthy makes the whole situation hilarious
Got the legendary EU captain from the crate from the first try. Currently playing on Västerås and it is fun. Cheers from RU server.
Nice luck! :)

Good video Terry as always but can you make ostergotland review
Östergötland looks pretty similar in stats. I might take a look at some point, but need to also mix it up a bit first :)
Halland in summary 2:
Halland: airplanes? what airplanes i dont see them
7:14 Doesnt Romulus have 1x2 and 1x4 torps? And the low tier germans with those single forward tubes

Yeah, I totally forgot about the lower tier German DDs, and I don't think I ever played Romulus
31:15 best line.
I have a Mino, and I'm not afraid to use it. 😆
See, it was worth keeping him alive. Although Mino AA is no joke either, but Halland is better.
Wait, I just realised that the khaba in the intro that was referred to as "my khaba" was the same khaba that was on the opposite side in the first match :(
Terry, why don’t u do a review of the Henri IV? I rarely see it in game. And my St. Louis is about to make tier X.
One time I gunned down a Worcester in my Friesland. He was distracted shooting at my teammates holding them at bay so I came around the other side of the island he was hiding behind and pumped him full of shells. 3 permafires and almost all of my health but I took him down with no torps.
Wooster is pretty easy kill if you stay at range with Friesland tbh, the velocity and trajectory are trash for hitting DD past 5km
Yeah, it's a perpetual problem I already have in Seattle. Positioning is key in these ships, if you can catch a DD up close, they're toast.
Halland in summary:
Some random CV: oooo a destroyer lemmie get him
Halland: airplanes **G O N E**
I bet that if you combine a division of 3 Hallands, you will get the ultimate no fly zone and cv remover squad.
Also floods... lots of possibilities.
