Didn't see anyone answering your request to explain vtubera yet, so I'll do a bit. Vtubers are just people who stream using a virtual avatar, rather than a face/irl cam. There are 2 categories, corporate and indie. Corporate vtubers such as Hololive, often referred to as "talents", operate under a parent company that should be providing various services to help the talent with their various activities (Over the past year it's become apparent that some companies do not). Hololive outside of streaming specifically engages in Idol culture, creating music and performing live concerts, selling merch, and engaging in collabs with other companies and organizations. The music in Holocure is actually 8bit versions of songs that Hololive has produced, stage 1 being a song titled "Suspect". Gwar Gura, a shark girl, has collabed with Taco Bell, an aquarium in Japan, and even with the LA Dodgers earlier this year along with 2 of the Japanese talents. One of the Japanese members of Hololive, Korone had an Easter egg in Doom, and has been given ambassadorships for Sonic the hedgehog, and Honda racing. There's a lot of corporations in the industry, and a number of them have garnered a rather poor reputation, but Hololive is generally regarded as the gold standard for corporate vtubers as both individual talents and as a company as a whole. Corporate vtubers usually have access to better funding for larger projects, such as live concerts, music videos, and other irl events. Indie vtubers are individuals who operate entirely on their own, or with a small independent team. Usually independent vtubers are less restricted in what they can stream, for instance if a Hololive talent wants to stream a game, the company has to acquire permission from relevant parties to stream that game, an independent vtuber could just decide halfway through a stream "let's play this game" and just play it with no issue.
The only 2 things I wanna impress upon you is that there are entire mechanics you have to unlock in the shop like ults an the skills are important parts o a character's kit. I imagine Trott knows this by now an can tell em directly if they ever play again but still. Also don know if Smith jus literally couldn comprehend what hololive was but it's pretty much the Yogscast but everyone uses avatars an there's more events an such. Also also BL stands for boy's love. It's jus gay romance. Also also also Pekora has been one of the top female streamers for a couple years now. Amouranth has been her biggest competition from what I remember. It's not some payed for vtuber only statistic she's jus that popular.
You can think of hololive as like a halfway between a normal streamer and wwe, mixed with japanese idol culture. They are fairly sincere, but they are entertainers and do have a filter. That's ultimately why a few leave and go indie. Some of them have even mentioned being fans if yogs before.
Seeing my favorite communities combine like this is always so wild. The only reason I started watching Vtubers was because their banter during games like Minecraft reminded me of classic Yogs content. A few of them like Fauna and Shiori mentioned being old Yogs fans a few times.
Worth mentioning that if you like the soundtrack, Eufrik has all the tracks uploaded on his channel & has information about making them as well as the HoloLive songs that they're adapted from.

Some interesting tid bits about the game: 1. Kay Yu, the developer of the game, is actually a really talanted artist and has worked on several anime projects, with his most notable ones being One Piece, Boruto and Sword Art Online. The people attacking you are the mascots of their respective VTubers. They're essentially what the VTubers call their fans. Shrimps for Gura, Deadbeats (the skeleton guys) for Calli, etc. 4. Certain characters have certain builds which can really increase generation of holocoins. One such popular combination is the character Marine who has a skill that allows them to generate coins by hitting enemies. The demographics of the people who watch Vtuber tends towards millenial rather than Gen Z or Alpha, due to disposable income more than anything- Merch and events. Depends how weeby you are in terms of being super into them though. Otherwise they're just like any other streamer, but rather than face came or no cam they use a moving 2d or 3d image.
I see it as having something to visually engage with on stream for a streamer who makes good content but doesn't want to show their face. It's like if TheSpiffingBrit didn't have and stock images or his PNG. His content would still be good, but not nearly as visually engaging.

I feel like they are also a natural progression when you dont really watch anime anymore but are still kinda weeb.
I see it as having something to visually engage with on stream for a streamer who makes good content but doesn't want to show their face. It's like if TheSpiffingBrit didn't have and stock images or his PNG. His content would still be good, but not nearly as visually engaging.
@@herlastborn omg spiffingbrit is a pngtuber
they have a lot of millennial fans, but the audience of their streams is mostly (almost 50%) in the 18 to 24 year old bracket.
my fav vtuber is Ross Hornby, I have an off brand body pillow of him
Shit, they need to get Tom on as a guest star considering how immersed he is in VTuber culture!
Did not expect this, but hey, the game is quality and the more eyes on it the better. Can't believe it's free with all that's in it.
Wait until they find out that "some of these vtubers" have an Emmy, and others have sold out Tokyo Garden.
Unlocked Noel already? You will definitely love her playstyle.
Take the proper items (if already unlocked), and you could just stand still watching the bosses melt themselves while attacking you.
My fave is a newer Hololive VTuber called Raora Panthera. She is an Italian Pink Panther-woman who likes to draw and has amazing eyes. Her fans are called Chattini, who are little blue plushies who she talks to. According to the lore, she's just delusional and thinks they talk back to her. We Chattini, are obsessed with getting jetpacks and are very stupid. Chattini call Raora their "Mamma".
She's live now btw, playing portals 2 with Kronii
@@jkler490 I was asleep :(
Love Raora!
Please do more! Try buying Special Powers & visit the HoloHouse too next time
hakos baelz is my favourite vtuber
I can imagine that Ross Granny pillow would be a best seller 😅
Don't forget to buy the Special Attack from the Upgrade Shop. That will unlock the Character's ULT move. Each character has different ULT.
Aight, who’s gonna make a hat films one…
Ah, holocure. The Game that hololive fans because of references and people who have no idea about hololive love because is an amazing game
I love the lost irony of "this is for zoomers not for people like us" right before starting a very engaged and passionate conversation about pokemon card battles.
It was so odd seeing Barry hanging out with ironmouse a while ago
Can I ask where to find this
What? When was that??
@@johnnyblaze630 I’m not sure which stream but they were playing rust and Harry was piloting the helicopter while mouse is shooting
Man talk about worlds collide I had do a double take on the thumbnail lol. Hololive x hatfilms 😅
Vtubers are like, the antithesis to Zoomer content considering 80% of fans and Vtubers are over the age of 26/27
Does anyone ever tell them BL stands for Boy Love? A popular romance genre for women in Japan.
Basically: Shipping and Receiving ;D
Edit: or just Hat Films in general... General **salute**
We love Yogscast x Hololive
Damn, wasnt expecting this!
Pick up your upgrades damnitall
absolutely based choice from Smith, i knew he was my fave for a reason
Trott is giving secret hololive fan, super sus.
i like the game and all too but i'm surprised these lads would get into it, its just such a worlds apart kinda thing!
is it just me, or are they really bad at the "vampire survivor" style game? constantly running from the mobs and missing their attacks
Smith calling this a rougelite... has he never played vampire survivors?
All you need to know about Vtubers is that Korone is the best. Wholesome and fucking hilarious at the same time.
Fun to see something different on the channel! I don't know what's going on, but Smith's last run looked pretty epic. I hope the boiks release their body pillow line soon; winter is a great time for cuddling. :)
forget hololive, I was most surprised by Smith talkin bout learning meta decks in Pokemon. For some reason never got the impression he was someone who would get into tcgs
Haha I started playing this after Trott mentioned it on the Ape Air stream. I guess it isn't coincidence then is it lol
Having watched Tom play a lot of this game I'm fully ready to watch the Hats play it
Wishing for more.
It's extremely jarring in a very positive way to see and hear you guys play this, kind of like a crossover episode, as someone who's been watching these girls for four years and you guys for longer.
Glad you all had fun, definitely wouldn't mind more.
I wonder what Fauna and Shiori will think of this
my favourite vtuber is either ironmouse of buffpup :) i know bugger all about the culture, but those 2 are funny
the soundtrack for this game is really good!
Smith being based for saying Danchou is his oshi
Honestly was really entertaining to watch and informative, great video! Didnt expect that informative side at all going into this haha.
The new update added so much. I hope you get a chance to see it all. Also, unlock your ultimates in the shop it adds another layer of gameplay to the game.
That a hell of a plot twist, Trott turns out to be Yagoo. Didn't see that one coming. Strange they look nothing alike but I guess the one we see is just a public face.
Also that Asacoco, Yeee that's a but plug. RIP shit posting dragon.
It's worth noting that while the streamers represent a character, they tend to just be themselves while streaming. Sometimes they reference their "lore", but it's usually for a joke.
"This looks like Humes-bait" is such a great quote.
The last few minutes, you were making of us hungry 😂😂
"This is Hulmes and HIS opinion on music" hahaha
