Thank, thank, thank you for having Anthony on, I have been wanting an update on the guy, an incredible actor.
Being a teenager when Weird science was released…. I identified with that film so much that I absolutely still love this film in 2024. AMH was like my teenage friend in the 1980’s. National Lampoons Vacation… I honestly saw my own father as Chevy Chase in that film. Just a goof about traveling cross country. 😂😂
If you were a teenager in the 80s, his scenes in 16c, Weird Science and BC were something that became part of your culture...
Then he tried to go tough guy, not to be type cast. We can understand that. It was kinda working. But his timing was not right.
The market just wanted a coke and he was bringing a bud light to the party.
People wanted that nerdy, funny kid that got himself into these crazy situations.
Still, to this day, if he is in a movie...even if I know it is going to be bad I still want to see it.
Enjoyed his run on”Dead Zone”. Good acting and writing ✍️
AMH is one of my favorite people ever in the industry
I grew up watching that dude. He’s as cool as I hoped he would be
Am I the only one who liked sixteen candles? Awesome movie!
You definitely are not the only one!
With you all the way! One of my favorite 80s films of all time❤
Long Duck Dong 😂
His movies were everywhere when i was a kid we loved everything he was in!
Loved his scene with Ben Affleck and Chris Messina in Live By Night too.
Hilarious youtube😅 thanks for deleting my comment about the Ohio governor dark pool bribery scheme..
My favorite Anthony Michael hall story was from Jay mohr about how when AMH was juicing up and told mohr to stay out of some pool hall/bar that they both loved to frequent because he wanted all the pretty waitresses to himself or whatever.
This is the most under rated podcast out there right now. I would imagine showing video would add another dimension of communication/expression for the audience to enjoy. That might get more views. But really, the Kings of Leon video only has 6k views??? Criminal.
This episiode was awesome. I love the ones with people from the SNL seasons that get overlooked. I loved all Anthony Michael Hall's movies and its great to hear that he sounds like such a nice and cool guy.
"How about a greazy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?" Chet, Weird Science
R.I.P. Bill He died during a surgery.
Best episode to date. AMH is a part of my youth, sounds like a good guy, that's nice to find out. 👍 Solid one guys.
Great guest idea. Get that guy Jug Nelson next from the crack pack.
Great guest! Now get Terry Sweeney, Tim Kazurinsky, Mary Gross, and Robin Duke.
Post 911SNL tightened up the security. Turned out Fallon was kind of abusing the system. When some of the girls he was having meeting backstage showed up, They'd get through security on a technicality"how Can I show you an ID when I'm not even old enough to have a driver's license ?"
Love this guy
I'm concerned about David and Dana; they actually did research AND talked about SNL!?! 😮😆
😂
Who is this Gary character?
From geeky super nerd to badass super villian-I have loved watching that transformation and the body of work that speaks for itself.
surprised AMH did not wanna do the brats doc
"i only look forward"
huh? he just spent a whole hour talking about john hughes & SNL. every interview these days is the same. all he does now is look back lol. there must be some reason he wasnt in the doc bec he is absolutely 1 of the prime members of brat pack
George W. Bush's cousin (the son and grandson of Yale football players) made a wonderful documentary about the 1968 game with Harvard. The two players who are the most famous today are [Al Gore's Harvard roommate] Tommy Lee Jones and [Dallas Cowboys star] Calvin Hill of Yale.
Hill refused to participate and Jones made an ass of himself.
Easily one of the best actors of the 80s. Check out his batsh*t crazy performance in Exit in red with Mickey Rourke..
He was not one of the best actors of the 80s lol. Deniro, hackman, hurt, pesci, Pacino, etc. . . He was in some teen movies people like, but nothing compared to the greats
@@kendallandrews8691 Pacino in the 80s sucked big time lol all his best performances was in the 70s.. Sea of Love & Scarface was decent il give him that..
Exit in Red was in 96... But I'll check it out, never heard of it.
@@VENZUL0 it’s a terrible film lol but it’s a interesting performance..
@@kendallandrews8691 well apparently Kubrick said he was the best he'd seen since Nicholson...
Sooo many great movies he was on. My favorite was Edward Scissorhands. Extraordinary actor.
He worked and partied and knows all the top directors and actors. He is handsome, smart, eloquent, centered, beautiful wife and baby.
this guy has been in more culturally impactful works than anyone else I can think of. lampoon, breakfast club, the dark knight, sixteen candles, edward scissorhands, weird science, snl,.
Met him at a film festival in Truth or Consequences, NM. Very nice guy, we discussed John Hughes and their relationship, what a loss that was. Have a selfie and signed Vacation poster buried somewhere ❤
Dana should do a Christopher Walken bit where Walken is calling in to a customer service line and responding to the questions.
Good fly. I wouldn't swat this one.
Come n get sum !
This was such a great interview! Great questions!
Too funny 👏🏾👏🏾😄
is there a reason why they dont videotape this?
its like they dont want the channel to grow
Fcking Chet..... Lol, weird science
Mike is a legend.
Chicks can’t hold they smoke….dats what it is.
This is fun. AMH's voice and speech pattern is still so distinct that I can picture him talking but with his young face. Love that he is still so humble and in love with his craft.
Rich Hall please.
A great day in trimcamp, a new fly, and a fresh set of scissors! Thank you gentlemen, all 3.
"He don't even have his license, Lisa".
Wasn't he the bass player for Van Halen for a while?
Anthony is so much different as an adult than his roles as a teenager; where most actors have a remnant of their younger self, Anthony seems completely different.
I want to hear more about David's dating history and his special sauce like he says
When are you having Eddie on the show?
Hell Yeah!!! Now this is a guest. Crist sakes thought it was gonna be Boyd Tinsley…
This is great! I grew up in the 80s & love AMH!!
Wow amazing episode, legit brightened my day. Also never knew AMH is from Westie… my mind is blown.
I always wondered how damnon ended up getting cast on in living color
Like Kim, Shawn, Marlon and Dwayne?
@@carina9295 yeah. Jim Carrey probably got them the roles.
I had a crush on him once upon a time. David you're still my fav
No question on working with Johhny Deep and Wynona and, Brad Pitt? and Stephen King?
Fantastic! Love it all... Keep it up! Gona Get Some!!!
Anthony turned down ferries buehler and pretty in pink bec he wanted to be considered for stuff like full metal jacket. later he gave a great performance in six degrees of separation. and also great in dead zone. he wanted to stretch his dramatic chops. but he bit the hand that fed him. and they never spoke again. its just sad bec thats 1 of the best collaborations in comedy movie history. although its probly for the best he turned down buehler. nobody could have played that character better than broderick.
Damon wayans and his son have a sitcom coming out this fall for what it's worth. I bet he's got some great stories. One of the few people to make Lorne Michaels "loose it"
*lose* it
Did guys mention he was in the latest Halloween movies w Jamie Lee Curtis? (he was awesome in them)
Pieces of AFTRA! A great 3 dog night song?
Best thing since the Courage the Cowardly dog 4 hour analysis. Woot!
Want to see him not hear him. But with you 2 that's ok😂
He was funny on SNL, the mini about having to quit because his parents found out he was on the show
I thought he was good on there too, him and Robert Downey Jr.
He seems like a straight shooter and a good egg.
Spadoodle
And then he kicked em in the Ding ding.
Oh my gosh ... I miss Dennis Miller so much. I guess he's enjoying private life these days, which I understand. If he's posting anything on social media or Y-Tube, etc, someone please let me know.
Im sure david DOES like jessica alba and would just LOVE 2 hav her on the show. perv.🤣👍
We do the fanboy convention in knoxville every year, its awesome, its like being a kid again, stupid costumes, act however ya want, be the biggest dork in the world ....everybodies friends. As an attendee its like a giant playground, you can walk and run all day, and then, on the drive home, your feet are sore, in a good way, like when you were a kid. The lego selection is amazing, id be shocked if you didnt find joe dirt and garth minifigures, they have MULTIPLE boohs that offer nothing but every single character ever as lego minifigures. Last year there was a sexy harlequin/joker couple, he got mad when she was loving all the attention and picture takers, a couple hours later, me and my lady were smoking doobs and eating tacos in the shade out back by the taco trucks,(in our wayne/garth costumes) and suddenly the mad joker dude slams out the back doors with his makeup smearing from crying and storms past a superman taking a drag off a cigarrette....she ended up seductively leaning on a knife vendors table until he packed up and left with her, lol, scandalous.....i told my girl, thats that guys real villain origin story lol, and yes, we hit the sexy harlequin girlfriend with a schwwwwing!
Kubrick, Pollack, and Cruise entered the billiard room set on Eyes Wode Shut and called a private blocking as the crew waited outside - nobody saw them again for two weeks. They found Kurick on a golf course.
Give a microphone to funny and interesting people and good things happen
Very hot! Very hot!😂
I love this guy
2:13 and SDJr
When Chevy started snoring mid sentence during that episode😂😂😂
I died!
Great episode! Anthony matches the humor energy between this doppleganger duo very well. If only he were blonde...
I am currently one more random (to me) mention of the movie, "sixteen candles" away from watching that movie for the first time. It just always sounded like a chick flick to me and so I figure unless I hear about it sixteen times, I probably shouldn't watch it alone. I'm a bit superstitious.
I think a HUGE attraction to Hughes' movies are that, at the time, they were so friggin' relatable if you were the same age, living a similar "life" as a middle class H.S. kid (female OR male) as the characters in the movies. So, it would be interesting to hear someone's critique of the movie today and at whatever age you are today. If that makes sense
Anthony sounds like a real down yo earth guy!
Finally there are getting the Big stars on ?
They are ❤
Hall has 104 acting credits
McCartney steve martin and will ferrel were great eps
Holy crap! He turned into action hero
One of the last true actors
REALLY?
Much better without video
Weird FLYence!
He was great as the Chief of Police in the last season of Psych
Dude has never lost his badassness...
Come n get some !
Enjoyed your movies
I wanna know why he wasn’t really included kn the brat pack documentary
McCarthy asked but he refused to take part.
He didn’t want any association with St Elmo’s fire..
Trumpster. No thanks.
🤣💯👍🏻
Who's gonna play Red Rednecky in the netflix series ?
I'm thinking Cajun man !
