Brice only started smashing at 12-12, only 7 smashes in the first set. Chou's count is more like 25 - 30. Why did he only start this late in the set? It gave him a clear possibility to gain points. Was he afraid of Chou's counter? Did he need time to adjust? Or was he just not readty to start hard and fast in the beginning?... I found the first 15 - 20 points he had a weird tactic... Second set I couldn't say beccause some points were skipped.

Because Chou made Brice move around to kept him from smashing.

Chou isn't a potential competitor for Olympic gold. his game is mediocre at best. lacklustre attack, defence, speed and skill. Not a very smart player as well. Bored to death watching this match.

Is attack and control are nice but maybe not enough to break through his opponents defence. Thus, he has resulted to playing long rallies and relying on moving the player around. This will show when his stamina ( better than everyone else, even world class players ) is able to come in. If you have followed his games they all go 3 sets. I'm not saying he has a big chance to win the gold medal but he certainly is a good player and a competitor. Another to notice is that he plays powerfully which makes it hard to attack into and if you get too loose he will capitalize.
