- Canadian Army Reserve Recruiting Presentation. If you are interested in joining the Canadian Reserves you should watch this! It gives a lot of information about joining and you may have to see it a few times to get all the information. You should contact your local Recruiter for more up to date information.
God bless all Canadian Regulars and Reserves who serve their Country and their Queen in times of war and peace. I hope to join the Reserves when I'm 19 and serve Canada just as well as my Grandfather served King George VI and Great Britain in WW2.
God Save our Queen and Heaven Bless the Maple Leaf Forever!
+1812AndMore I am a Sikh Canadian of Indian Origin. My great great Grandfather was a Sepoy in the British Indian Army and he was deployed in France during ww1. He died there and was buried in a mass grave by Germans. My great grandfather was a doctor in the British Indian army and was deployed in Burma and East Indies along with his wife who was a nurse. She was captured and tortured by the Japanese/INA and she died in Burma. We still have my great grandfather's jungle carbine in India. My Dad also joined the Indian army as an Engineer and came to Canada after completing his service. I hope to join the Canadian Army to serve Her Majesty and the Crown. God save the queen!
Hi, I'm a citizen of Azerbaijan. I want to serve as a soldier in the Canadian army, where and how can I apply? Please give me some advice.
@@anarfarajov807 just follow the steps in the video
@@anarfarajov807 Hey man are you still interested in applying to the Army?
Bro fuck the queen just serve Canada
"where do i sign?" You have to sign like 5000 papers before joining.
Nope lol
@@nikiradiocomical over exaggeration
That was a good presentation. I gotta say joining the army reserve has been the best decision I ever made. Once you get past BMQ and are trade qualified it really becomes a lot of fun. I've been in for over a year and a half, fully qualified, and I love it.
Are you still in?
@@KaiserKingFischer I got out a couple of years ago. Sometimes I think about getting back in because part of me misses it.
This is by far the best recruiting video ever
Im indo canadian and i love my country.im 36 and ive been thinking hard about joining the reserves.if it came down to it i would die for my country,it is the highest honour a person can have.its a must to know combat training for the day the war comes to our mother land.god bless canada and Canadians ❤
Yes same
I'm 16 and quite frankly this had actually made my choice in joining the reserves much more meaningful outside of following in my great grandfathers' footsteps this summer. Hopefully I can get accepted as a vehicle technician, I already love working on cars at our schools auto shop, I think i'm ready to step up my game and do my part for a country that's given so much for me.
hello! I'm actually in the same boat as you right now? Do you have any advice for people doing the same?
@@ohtych1004 Man, I forgot this post even existed. They rejected my application 8 years ago citing that they didn't want to train someone for the fields I'd chosen even though I had Vehicle Technician, Artillery Operator, and Infantry. Any other applications I forwarded went unanswered.
Forget it man. Right now the Forces are a rotting shell of its former self.
@@WiredrawnMurder45I’m 17 and just sent my application in for infantry lmao
@BushTroopers yeah thanks dropped to 167 on my way to 150 thanks i'm at 2.3km non stop but i have 2 years left till i join. and thank you for the advice and your service to canada.
I believe every young Canadians should join army, learn discipline and focus in life at-least for 3 plus years.
you do the written test first then the medical exam. the fitness test is done when you are doing basic training in Quebec
the recruiting centre will call references, but I don't think they'll call anyone you have not marked as a reference
the length of time depends on what trade your in and how long you've been in the reserves. i have a friend that had the transfer take only two months because the trade was in demand. and yes, you can stay in the reserves while waiting for your component transfer.
Woooow… I love how Canada gives you so much time to join “57”!!!!! 17 years more than the U.S.
THIS WAS FILMED AT FORT YORK :D
This was informative, thank you. Thinking of joining the reserves as a medic to gain more experience to supplement my paramedicine career.
Keep in mind once you sumbit your application your looking at a year of recruitment process before you get in
***** Aaah, this I did not know. Trying to call the recruiting officer nearest me to find out more info, but unfortunately, I keep missing him, lol. Thank you for the additional information.
+D'Arcy Burk a year? i put mine in feb and am waiting for medical and interview thats gonna take a year? he said i could be gone by may?
It took me 10 months to get sworn in and 12 months to start basic however it can depend on your trade and how busy they are
Where can I find the official video? this copy is a bit fuzzy in the audio department...
@MrRenegademovies you have to walk up some stairs and do 20 push ups and crunches
but you should be able to do more then that
They also test for grip strength make u squeeze a machine that tells how much force you can grasp
@m1up All the major checks are covered in both, you will learn drill, weapons handling, first aid etc... Time spent on a topic in a reserve BMQ is usually more condensed. Then you are off to the second portion called BMQ Land (or SQ/soldier qualification) which is all your fieldcraft (if in ontario your looking at meaford).
In the United States Armed Forces Reserve Components, you cannot, repeat cannot quit at anytime. You are obligated to serve your enlistment contract agreement. Until you reach your expiration time of service, ETS. and U. S. Military Reserve Personnel get deployed just like there Active Component counterparts. It does not matter if the reservist volunteers or not.
@Darkness0111 Its for anyone that fits the criteria, watch the video and pay attention. Its basically like a part time job.
@killerex010 C7 actually has a lot of improvents over the m16 (mostly internal things) like shooting faster, being more reliable, etc. We also have the C9A2 which is also a much imroved version of the SAW M249. we are phasing out the browning to the Sig Sauer P226. We have the Leopard C2 as our main battler tank which is probably tied or a little bit better then the Abrams. We have the LAV 3 as our main troop carrier, they have Humvees, LAV 3 is way better then a humvee.
@INTESTINS It took me from 8 moths to do a weekend BMQ and SQ (usually done every other weekend or so) then after that one month of training up in Meaford for my Armored DP1. So all in all it took 9 months to go from a recruit to a qualified solider. Now I should be promoted to Cpl in September and I can't wait.
It totally depends on your recruitment center. When I joined up, they wanted me to do my aptitude test, fitness test, and medical all on the first day. When I got there, they told me I would only be doing my aptitude test. So they called me back to do my medical, fitness, and interview all on the same day. They should tell you and let you know, but be prepared to do all three.
the greatest enroller i have ever seen, 2:55 he is telling it like it is
@hockeyspencer1 If you listined towards the end, you have to be between the ages of 16 - 57. You do not have to be in cadets but it does help (I'm a Flight Sergeant in air cadets). However, cadets and I believe the reserves does their timing on drill differently from the regular force which make the regular for not like cadets as much. they still like them but it falls under attitude. (Example: attention - at ease in cadets is "up down" but regular is "1, 2 (or 1, 1)"
Hey there, I'm in the same boat, I dropped out of grade 10 two years ago, Ive been working making a ridiculous amount down here in Sask doing construction, Just a couple months ago I realized i want to join the army to, All you need is 6 credits, But you don't really have to many options you can only be an infantry man with that education, you don't need any specific classes either.
@micheal4400 The pay scale is on the CF site, and Im 16 in the reserves, it really easy to finish school when you are in the reserves. its a great thing to join up
to join full time from what research i have been doing when your 16 - 17 you join with a parent or guardian signature as far as i know this does include overseas ops(since its the regular force)
From what I read, that's true. Natives and women are allowed to have long hair as long as it doesn't obstruct vision or present a safety hazard. You'll have to talk to a recruitment officer about it I think, I plan to join the Reserves this Summer. Sadly I am neither so going to have to get my first hair cut in almost 2 years lol
@BothtaweeKelly Also, it depends on what trade you plan to join. Some MP's are reserves but you need police foundations or anything related to that or law to join them (youngest I heard in the MP's was 19). Combat engineers might need carpentry and or auto-motive high school credits. Check with your local recuiter for details on the unit you plan to join.
I might be able to help you more, but I can't always give a positive answer for I havn't joind the CF yet. I'm in my 6th year of cadets.
@Freepepsi42 the fitness level is what it is, you have to keep in mind that several people are applying for a few jobs so any advantage you have is better for you. On that note anything that may hinder you will be a problem. What I suggest is you start running now to get in good shape for your test.
Good Luck
Sgt (Ret'd) Hensman
@killerex010 actually the Canadian Forces have some of the most advanced wepaons and vehicles out there, for instance the C7A2 (our main rifle) is a much improved version of the m16 which is Americas main rifle, and as a Canadian soldier you will receive much better training and much better equipment then an American soldier will, simply because Canada has less soldiers to supply, so they can spend more money per soldier than America.
Thank you for your reply. I will have to look into this further. Again best of luck to you!
Just finished all my paper work today! Need to do a couple more things but besides those I am all set!
@ibetroll u could apply to reserves through a co-op at your school if they do that, if not id talk to a recruiter
I linked up with the royals at Fort York armouries back in the mid 90's when I was 21
@fastone32
Check out the forces.ca website for information on the Pay Scale.
As for your second question, yes you do get deployed to war as a reservist, however it is strickly volintary and you have to submit your name through the appropriate chain of command.
Regards,
@GuitarQueero1 age was changed in Feb to 17
ive been in the Infantry reserves for 2 years and ive never worked with anyone with an iQ under 130, they are all smart, top of the class type students involved heavily with athletics. Most of the guys in my section are late highschool/ early university students. While i cannot speak for the university students, the highschool guys i go to school with are all on the honour role except one. and he isnt on the honour role because he is doing coop....
Just looked into the descriptions, found my role to be more of Mechanical Engineer, but the one thing that's stopping me is the question of whether I can give up my current life for the military and better of the country. It feels like a lot to give up for a rewarding venture.
@norcofoxrider I'm 4'11 and just under 120 lbs, I'm getting sworn in in a week, if you can meet the physical requirements I'm sure you'll be good to go.
i think it's the same as they CF regular. you have to have finished grade 10.
The simple answer is most likely no. It may or may not preclude you from joining the Canadian Forces, but looking at the severity of your offense, the chances are very slim to none with that weapon charge. All charges will be taken look at by them and will be taken into consideration. It will affect your application, so even if you do manage to apply, it will take longer because of the criminal charges. To have a certain answer, you should contact your local RC b/c no one here is a recruiter.
well, it has always been the back of my head ever since my mother enrolled me in Cadet`s, it taught me alot of things and it was all hands on experience. Im 21 now and was wondering, just how physically fit, Id have to be to join the forces. I smoke a pack a day and am a coffee drinker, but Im in good shape, not supplement ripped or gym built but still dont know about those 25 pull ups. on the other hand ive been told great things about the reserves and educational benifits.got a work out sheet?
I think the trades will always hire though, because there is always a need of trades for domestic reliefs etc.
I would love to join our military. Know many good people in it. I just can't afford the pay cut to be part of the most awesome man camp in the world.
Same stuff is in it but its shorter. And they are held all over Canada
So the reserves training is the same as BMQ for the regs? That doesn't sound right...
@micheal4400
starting pay for private recruits is about 85 bucks an army day. which is 6 hours or more. may sound decent but in the end you work about 22 or 23 hours a day on the weekend course, and only a few less then that during the summer course, and thats over 5 days. in the end you make like 5 bucks an hour haha
I was in your exact position a bit over a year ago. I can answer pretty much anything about my process up to the end of BMQ.
If you are only sixteen look into your local reserve units or call a recruiter.
@killerex010 When your deployed with the CF you will have A LOT more resources at your desposale then an American sodlier will. But the best thing about the CF (and the most important, not to mention) is the training, in The CF you will get a lot better training than in the US Army. Between Numbers, Equipment and Training; you would be a fool not to choose training. Just remember, quality over quantity.
You can't be for real. Every time I'm down in the US I run into a recruiter asking if I want to seek adventure.
My friend and I joined up and Im still waiting until i get my call !! :D cant wait , i have all the basic requirements for joining, my friend already got his call and going to be getting his kit NEXT TUESDAY!! :D i cant wait, I wished i would of gotten the call around the same time as him but oh well still stoked as i'll ever be :D, Me and him applied for artillery then when we get older were going to ppcli in shilo, MB :D
On base you have to pay rent if your joining at 17 like I am you have to pay rent unless your native
@unrealshrimp you must be 16 to hand in your application, it will take some time to get in so you most likely not make the Summer program. You do not go to school (high School that is) in the Reserves you still stay at home unless you go away in the summer.
I hope that helps!!!
Sgt (Ret'd) Hensman
I ask because it says it was made in 2010 and a lot can happen with a army in 3 years
From my layman's perspective, it'd probably be best to visit a CF armoury (a sort of base for reserve forces) for recruiting information. And, of course, you'd have to ask your parents since you're a minor...
Thinking about joining reserves, what kind of hours would I be looking at? As well as I have heard the Basic trainign varies from summer and winter.
I'm in the Reserves. It's fun when you're on course, but right now all I'm doing is putting computers together and cleaning rooms. Don't expect everything to be awesome when you join.
it's the same just that your courses are done over the summer.
You're 16, if you're physically fit consider joining the Army Reserves and continue being a full time student. One of the WORST thing to do is dropping High school to join the Army. If you are going to join the Reg Force, join after you graduate.
Do you want to do this as a career? Or just as part time? If you join the reserves, it could take years to get transferred into reg force.
i think the max age is like 54...you should talk to your nearest recruiting centre..reserve forces are more laid back i think..in terms of the requirements
Yes you need 6/10 grade 10 classes completed. I'm currently going back to school to get 2 more credits than I'm joining the Canadian forces.
@dmoneyxd no the just check your hearing/vision etc. they get you down to your boxers, no peeking.
Is it true that aboriginal members can request to wear there hair long or in braids as long as there is no safety concerns? And what are the chances of you getting the go ahead or being denied?
@royalmarine1011 Do you know anything about Task Force Arrowhead, a new SF that is getting set up this year? Are they a tier 1 SF like the JTF2? And is the CSOR supposed to be taking JTF2's place as a tier one SF?
@Bargains1 12 minutes is simple for a person who is slightly in shape
At the 11th Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery web site, it indicates that both Canadian Citizens and Canadian Permanent Residents are eligible to join the Canadian Forces Reserves. However, at 4:10 in this video, you indicate that only Canadian Citizens are eligible to join Canadian Forces Reserves. RUclips prevents me from posting a link. Please clarify.
Hey. I understand that reserves go through basic training. Do they go to basic training with everyone else Full-time in Quebec? Is that correct?
Do you have any restrictions against yourself for firearms? If so then probably not. What trade were you thinking? I would also suggest talking to a recruiter to discuss your suitability. In my honest opinion I would not like serving with a member who has lived in a poor crowd, it would be different if they were not that person. It will most likely depend on the person they see you as.
uh what are the phicical requierments to join it just says you need to be fir for it like how many push ups or sit up do I have to do and stuff like that?
Is it true aboriginal members can request to wear long hair or in braids as long as there's now safety hazards and what will the % of you being able to actually wear long hair and if you get denied or not
Good to see a comment where someone understands that what they have is not something they just deserve because they breath. We need more realists like you. Does no one ever thank this country for being able to buy food from the store without worrying about being shot up by rebels, terrorists, whatever thank you anyways.
yes if u try
Depends, can you carry 100lbs of equipment and jog several km?
I'm also wondering, Is the basic training for the reservist's the same as basic training for regular force? In Quebec?
i have a question, should i join the reserves first to learn things and become better aquainted with how the cf is then go to the regular force or just go right to the regular force? what would be better? im 15 and just recently decided this is what im gonna do and am wondering what would be better
I'm a shift worker. My schedule is that I work 4 days and then have 4 days off. I am required to work weekends and holidays regularly. Would this hinder my ability to join the reserves?
I have questions to ask of though.
I know everyone who joins goes through basic training (got that out of the way) but I was going to ask, do you need to pick either artillery or infantry for part time as one of your chosen jobs to continue on with a trade? Because really I just wanted to pick, Cook, Imagery Technician (Really want this one), or plumping and heating technician.
Why would it take so long to transfer from reserve force reg force and can you be in the reserves while waiting to join the regs?
I have a feeling you can't but he said between 16-57 u can join and its completely your choice to go over seas I take it you must be 18? Or can you volunteer to go over at 16,17?
@INTESTINS Thanks man, good luck with the rest of the recruitment process and with BMQ, it's hard but well worth it. :)
Thanks, that was a very informative. I'm seriously considering joining the reserves next summer. I just thought I'd ask if you know anything about exchanges since I'm a university student. Would I have that opportunity to study abroad? I'm just wondering what the rules are with regards to that. Thanks again.
they will accomadate you when you are away on course
@micheal4400 sorry to say this man but as of January 2011 the age to join the reserves is now 17 you are going to have to wait another year
Wish I could Join as a US Citizen on a PR Card. Would love to use my time in reserves and all towards my Citizenship then join Active duty once i get Full Citizenship.
You can apply as a PR now
I get paid about 1/2 of what I get paid civvie side as a PTe, some days less.
Some people won't like the army life and if they leave the CF, it's tough for them to get a civvy job in the long run because they don't have their highschool education. Sorry my English isn't good, I hope you understand.
I'm thinking about going reserve as well. How long is the course doing weekends? My understanding is that the course is condensed into 8 weeks. So it would take the better part of 6 months to complete? I would like to be a Combat Engineer with the Lorne Scots Regiment. I still have to go down too the armory and speak with them about it. I wish you the best of luck!
I signed up already gotta do the test and done
what happen if you fail the the aptitude test? is this means that you don't have a change to join the reserve because you fail.
@Rick34ize yes you can as long as you are 16
im hoping long term friend, so then ill just do reg force if it could take that long
well apparently all the recruiters in my area are disgruntled. the one that I'm getting in through thinks that there's a mandatory registry for all fire arms in Ohio.
really like to join, but I have chronic skin allergies and a lot of tattoo, I guess I will just stay in fixing and modifying guns, and doing shooting in the range.....
so i wanna join the resirves but i heard that 16 yr olds dont do any combat training. i heard it was just officer training. is this true. i would hope not .
It all depends on what your going for.
@royalmarine1011 what type of schooling do I need like (grade 12) and also how can I join since I live in a small town in bc called lillooet I don't know where to get the forms that I need to fill out
@armysgtca that is true , but im still joining the reserve ...after all my hair can grow back.
the only problem is that the reserves are full but i can wait.
by the way thanks for the response Sgt
@armysgtca oh thanks for the info is there a certan amout of push ups sit ups i have to do to become a sniper also when i go to sign up do i get to pick sniper as my job and is there any way to practice becoming a sniper before signing up like airsoft paintball ect
