Great message. Hit home. Resonated. Thank you. No equivocation here. (I hate when some want to disregard the whole message when it is simply a small aspect with which they “take issue”.)
I was in total agreement about the easy “casual appearance” portion - and then you continued and cut me to the quick. Well said, and it’s about time I did something.

I am 77 years old and I have been married for 47 years so I feel I can speak to some of those things.Yes a marriage is a contract between 2 people a man and a woman.. and GOD is the holder and granter of that contract.I have watched My beloved Bride grow old. her hair is gray and she is way over weight BUT she has never been more beautiful than she is today. And I LOVE her more every day. Is this over whelming love and acceptance of her appearance done by my design? No it is a Gift from GOD, his love and strength, make my life and love possible.

      Congratulations Ed :)
I would love to hear your opinion on the following.
What would you say if I suggested that a marriage is a covenant instead of a contract? Basis being the theory that a contract is something between two parties who don't trust each other.
Marriage is much more than a legal document. It is a binding of love, devotion and commitment. For many of us this includes God at the centre. But also for non believers I think marriage truly holds more than a contract can ever offer.

when i met my wife over 30 years ago i was wearing the same type of attire as i do today, in my closet i have my work clothes and my spiffy clothes, the only difference between my spiffy clothes and work clothes is, i havent stained my spiffy clothes yet (making them into work clothes) 99.9 percent of the time im wearing either blue jeans or board shorts, t shirt and either tennis shoes or flip flops, i learned long ago not to dress nice as i will find something to work on at any given moment, and theres no way id want some nice clothes keeping me from getting my hands dirty :)

What happened to the last installment of the Top 50 tools for every man's tool box? You have gone to #40, this leaves #41 - #50 still left to be completed. Are you planning on releasing said video, or filming it if you have not already? I was really into this series and had used it to fill any gaps in my own personal tool supplies. I would greatly appreciate any information as to why you will or why you wont, be showing us the final 10 tools. I understand you are busy but I regarded this series as a perfect fit and was happy to watch multiple viewing to ensure a comprehensive rationale as to the inclusion of each tool and why it was important and what made it different from other tools. I look forward to finishing the series, if that is indeed your intended conclusion.

It is the Christmas season and on top of that he has many things on his plate, such as the wild fires. Give the man a break, huh? Is it really going to make any difference to your life if he doesn't complete the series? Are you really that dependent that you are relying on his opinion of what the best tools are for you to own? I am sure he will get around to finishing it some day.

      @user-xk1zt2ds4b 6 лет назад +12

Tenspeed TheBikeHanger I mentioned that I'm sure he is busy and understand that it may not be the most important video in his mind. YOU are the one making a big deal, getting defensive and hostile at me for asking a quetion. I never said I couldn't function or that I wasn't capable of knowing what tools I am missing. I simply stated that I enjoyed the videos as they've helped me fill some gaps I had while making points I hadn't thought of. You are clearly the one getting angry at me for asking if he plans on finishing it or not. But obviously I should have simply just asked you if it was acceptable for me to inquire about such an outlandish request.

I loved today's video. It is so true that the world has moved away from what marriage is meant to be. I have been married to the same woman for 20 years now. We don't have the rock solid bodies that we once had in our 20's, but we do our best to keep each others eye. I believe that when you neglect the smallest of things in the marriage, you also neglect your partner for life. These little things can add a lot of stress to the relationship. I encourage all couples to take the time to do the little things. Take time to pray together and don't just say you love them, EXPRESS IT.

Hi Cody. After seeing your behind the scenes / equipment video earlier, now I again recognized how much effort you put into the shooting and editing of videos, no matter how big the project you are working on. It's really a pleasure to watch the result of that. It's also interesting how I kind of take it for granted after watching you for many years now. Wait a minute. No, I don't take it for granted. Actually your attention to detail is what makes me stick to your channel over the time. It's reflected in everything you show us. In your projects, in the shooting, in the editing, in your behavior towards your family and other persons featured in the videos. I really appreciate everything you do here.
You are a role model - for me.
    Thank you.

The segment from Manly Manners made me think of the line "Love means never having to say you're sorry". It took time and maturity to understand that although it's a great story line, in real life love and marriage absolutely means you hold on to the ability to say your sorry. The commitment of a life together, in those things we can control, has always implied each spouse does everything they can for the success of the relationship (is my wife still looking over my shoulder?).

I had something similar when I was a kid. It is a sled. You lay flat on your belly and you go down hill head first. May be this is the bad idea you are talking about. However, if I recall it was very easy to steer by using your hip and legs which were kind of dragging behind. Way easier to steer than a genuine Toboggan.

Easy one, runners for a sled. Looks like white oak. The cut outs may be a bit risky as lateral force may split wood, if I were building it I'd router it a 1/4" in and stain it, yes holes look much cooler to look through, but with a sled you're running and chest jumping on it developing hundreds of pounds latteral force, and you want to have it last for multi seasons and not snap and stop coming to a grinding halt but that's just how I'd do it for your expending lots of man hours on this project & as ice is very abrasive and then water gets into grain quickly and then freezes and wood checks quickly. Question is: Well built & used, or pretty art piece? Cody Happy and Blessed new year.

100% Disagree that marriage between a Christian man and woman is contractual. To the world it's a contract but It was not designed that way. It was designed as a covenant NOT a contract. "What God has put together, let no man tear apart" Covenants were not to be broken lest grave/dire consequences. A contract can/could be broken the moment an item in the contract was not upheld as you stated. This "contractual"thinking is exactly why there is so much divorce (even in the church) just my 2 cents.

the intense feeling at the start of a relationship that people feel is another L word...Lust, movies and books focus on lust and make it look like love. they never show a 3 years later on a romantic comedy for a reason. Andrew Eastaughffe There's a book called "Five love languages" (can't remember who wrote it).

I agree with you that marriage is a contract in law it is a contract hence the reason with you or your partner cheat that is a breach of contract and grounds for a divorce I truly think most people that get divorced and remarried and divorced and remarried and divorced just think that there is something better out there for them when the truth of the matter is a marriage or even a relationship won't last without work. And without working together and as Time Goes By you get closer

My lady and I have been together for over thirty years. We've changed, our bodies have changed shapes and abilities. We still love each other, we laugh together every day. We help each other, we hold each other, talk to each other, and we listen to each other. We're partners in this journey we call life. There have been ups and downs, but the caring never stops. It's a commitment we made long ago. We're not married, and we don't care what the world thinks. We didn't take vows, we don't have a contract, we just care for each other and work things out. Talking and listening go a long, long way towards making a good partnership. Yeah, over thirty years and still laughing with each other...
