You have planted many types of plants, they look really nice. I also like growing plants, but many of the varieties I plant keep dying or being damaged. I will have to learn a lot to have successful results. Hope you will release more videos like this to motivate people like me.
I love carrot soup, balsamic roasted carrots, carrot bread and of course, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! Glad you were able to save the thornless blackberries from the allotment. Blackberry jam next year! Thank you for the update. ♥🙏
You can make a large quantity of roasted carrot and coriander soup which freezes well by bulk roasting the carrots and then macerating it down with your base soup. Lovely garden update I look forward to seeing the thornless blackberries.
I'm just about to order the seed mix this morning! It's 100% going to be a perennial mix so that the slope stays filled with plants year-round, and there's less work and effort involved. I'll be sure to include an update in next month's garden video :)
Nice garden you have there. My gardening is slowly getting better thanks to gardeners like you putting out the great informative videos.I live in the Willamette valley in Oregon pacific north west . Are your climates about like ours do you know ? Thanks for the great videos !!
Been working hard in The garden here in central Texas, today's temp in the 80's F, tomorrow expected mid 90's F..ugh! This summer is going to be vicious! Already have first potatoes coming up, cabbage, broccoli, onions, walking onions, shallots, garlic, lettuce, a ton of dill, parsley, other herbs sizing up due to warm weather, chives everywhere. Have the best looking kale ever, now worried about the heat affecting it! Will soon be putting in tomatoes, then peppers, etc. This season is moving fast!
Hi, I do have one question. Is your grey cat Chartreux? We have one. I am big fan of your gardening videos and love to see your cats around. Happy gardening!
There are a few mixes that are predominantly perennial but include some annuals so that you get a good display the first year. I'm considering these two: www.sowwild.co.uk/shop/rainbowbloomperennial britishwildflowermeadowseeds.co.uk/collections/wildflowers-only-no-grasses/products/bee-seed-mix
Hi Tanya! I'm glad to see that Comet is doing well after his health issues. Two questions; 1) Do you not find your parsley becoming bitter when they over winter? 2) I cannot remember, do you grow celery on the IOM?
Hi Bill - parsley always tastes of parsley, even when it's bolting. It seems to thrive in winter! Yes, I sometimes grow celery :) One or two plants is plenty enough, though. I also grow a type of perennial celery, lovage, and celeriac. All celery-like in their own ways.
If I have netting up, I leave it. I recently took netting off one of the beds if that's what you're really wondering about. I've left the metal hoops over it for the time being.
They will germinate quickly inside your house but not in the greenhouse yet. I started mine off in the house and then moved them out to the Polycrub a few days ago. Once germinated (they prefer about 20⁰C) it's best to keep them warmish (17-20⁰C) during the day, but cooler nights of 5⁰C or more is fine.
Both! I compost everything that I can and even have a closed container that I pop perennial weeds into. Still, my garden is rather large, and I can't make enough. I buy a truckload in each year from a small business that makes compost locally with horse manure and wood chips. It's great stuff! The business is called Manx Muck.
They do! That's why this year I'm not expecting many berries... Next year will be the year. Worth it? Yes, in my opinion. But if you have wild brambles that you can pick from and less room in the garden, then I'd probably grow something else.
Hello Tanya Lovely Greens . Followed your lead from last video planting seeds and my lettuces are showing. I had lots of various vegetable seeds that all spilled into the bottom of a carrier bag . So i have just thrown them all onto a meter square patch of soil to see what happens . Im not too expectant still cold here in Yorkshire.
Bit late to the party, but Carrot, oat and orange soup was a pleasant surprise. Suggested by a friend from Scotland and it was so tasty!!

Love spending time in your garden...Appreciated the information and tips.
Can’t wait to see the progression on the wildflower/annual slope. Love the garden! Thank you for sharing

Really interested to see how the supermarket potatoes get on
If you want to grow supermarket potatoes, you can also cut them in half or even smaller. As long as there's an eye on each piece, it will grow!
Everything looks fantastic. It’s going to be a great year 🌱💚
Yes! This year is going to be amazing 😍
Carrot ginger soup & pickled carrots are 2 fav's.
I really need to try pickled carrots! I've just made sweet pickled Jerusalem artichokes, and they are INCREDIBLE 😍
We also like to make Chow-Chow with carrots in it. A great relish for sandwiches. (southern roots to that recipe).@@Lovelygreens
Beautiful job key word Thornless!
Great content! How about canning the carrots? Makes nice for stews! Loving the berries, cant wait for update progress videos!
I'm new to pressure canning, but I do have a canner. I'll have a look for recipes! Thank you 💚
Very nice video❤
Great video and what a fabulous carrot harvest. Love the perennial wild flower bed it obviously likes it there. Thanks for sharing your garden.
Thank you :) It's growing so well!
Winston the peacock ate our blackberries & raspberries last Summer! Nice carrots. The garden is looking great!
He has a name! Brilliant 😂 I'm sure you would have fed them to him anyway 💚
Nice garden you have there.

Thanks for the great videos !!
Thank you so much. Yes, very similar climates between us - it doesn't get as hot here in the summer, but winter mildness is spot on!
lovely video tanya
Thank you! Such a great video. Beautiful garden even in late winter.
Thank you, Jane 💚
Great harvest
Seedlings are doing amazing!
Green and perky and racing towards spring 😍
I just put some potatoes in the ground here in Florida where it's already a bit warmer. Cheers!

Texas seems to get heat waves more often than not! Enjoy your early harvest, and I wish you a shady spot to relax this summer!
Wow such a lovely garden😊 so amazing and love ur green house to.. very inspiring. I started some of my seeds also can’t wait on spring or summer❤😊
Thank you 💚 Warm days will be here before we know it!
Hi, I do have one question. Is your grey cat Chartreux? We have one. I am big fan of your gardening videos and love to see your cats around. Happy gardening!
Comet is a Korat - it's an uncommon Thai breed 💚 I love having him and his 'sisters' cruising around the garden, too. It brings me much joy!
Hi there, can you recommend the perennial wildflower mix you mentioned please? Many thanks.
I've just tried to find it online but no mixes just individual seeds...

Try Eskimo carrots from mole seeds, they are pellets so easy to grow and taste great and when frost hits them they go sweeeeet
Good to know!
Hi Tanya!
I'm glad to see that Comet is doing well after his health issues.

Carrot and parsnip soup is rather nice
It really is, and you know I have that parsnip to use :)
Carrot cake can be frozen for anytime later in the year!
We were just talking about making another one! Soooo yummy and great idea re freezing 👌
I only hve a space about as wide as the crub. How many blackberries could I plant in that space?
The plants need to be planted a good six to eight feet apart with rows at least three feet apart.
?I sent a comment earlier and should have asked what zone your in ?We are in zone 6
I'm in the coastal maritime zone in Britain - approximately 8b
Do you cover the beds with netting between filming?
If I have netting up, I leave it. I recently took netting off one of the beds if that's what you're really wondering about. I've left the metal hoops over it for the time being.
Thank you for your video. How can I find your plan in Fryd? I have used the link bit cannot find it
Hi Gabrielle, I put a link in the pinned comment but if you go on Fryd and find my profile, you'll see my shared plans :)
Do your cats use your veg garden beds as litter boxes? What do you do if they leave turds in your beds?
I've yet to find a turd 😂
I always look forward to and enjoy your videos. TeresaSue
Thank you 💚
Would snapdragons germinate in the greenhouse right now? I thought theyd need to be indoors. (Ireland zone 8) TY
They will germinate quickly inside your house but not in the greenhouse yet. I started mine off in the house and then moved them out to the Polycrub a few days ago. One recipe orange carrot soup
Do you buy your compost or make it?
Both! I compost everything that I can and even have a closed container that I pop perennial weeds into. Still, my garden is rather large, and I can't make enough. I buy a truckload in each year from a small business that makes compost locally with horse manure and wood chips. It's great stuff! The business is called Manx Muck.
Hi Tanya, do the thornless blackberries grow on last years canes? So 2025 for berries? And are they prolific or definitely worth growing? Big fan :}
They do! That's why this year I'm not expecting many berries... Next year will be the year. Worth it? Yes, in my opinion. But if you have wild brambles that you can pick from and less room in the garden, then I'd probably grow something else.
When you have fresh small carrots that you have grown yourself it is pretty much a sin to do anything except oil, salt, oven.
An excellent suggestion, thanks :)
Lettuces can be forgiving with germinating at lower temperatures - glad you have those to look forward to!
