    It's not often that I already own something Klef reviews. I won a KK3 Pro from a giveaway sponsored by Retro Handhelds and AKNES back in May. It arrived in early June and I've got to say that I really enjoy mine. Everything Klef said about the KK3 Pro in this review is right on. I personally really like that slightly abrasive feel because I'm greasy enough to run for politics. Mine is also the DMG color scheme and it feels great and looks great.
    Mine is a super early example; enough so that it shipped with the white case from the KK3 Max instead of the smoked case shown in this video. A neat feature of the white case, I'm not sure if the smoked case has this, is that many of the useful shortcuts are painted on the lid so you don't need to memorize things or break out the instructions every five minutes. Of course many is not all, but, it's better than nothing.
    The absolute best value in controllers today is the T4 Nova Lite by GameSir. I'm not sure how they turn a profit at $25 + free shipping. It's legitimately great. But, if you don't have a limited budget and you want a bigger battery, a gyro, and more features then the KK3 Pro is a no brainer. It feels great, it looks great (I'm digging the DMG colors), it'll work with about anything, and the battery lasts forever on a charge. It's a super nice controller and I'm grateful to Retro Handhelds and AKNES for sending it to me. The fact that there's one, and possibly two, controllers in the Gulikit lineup which are "better" blows my mind. How is that possible?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад +1

      "Greasy enough to run for politics" 🤣🤣🤣 The shortcuts are also painted on the case I got but not as visible, white ink would've fixed that. Well, I couldn't extract anything from the GuliKit rep I'm in cahoots with but I did get enough to know that the Standard and Ultra are definitely in existence.
      The Standard should come in a few weeks whereas Ultra is going to be much later. Didn't get any specifics but I would question the potential of going as far as early 2025? I think the standard is really to go after the Nova Lite and EasySMX X05, can't say for sure but I know these two controllers are performing very well for the respective brands so GuliKit could be trying to tap into that slice of the pie. Excited to see what they'll have in store!

    I own both the KK3 MAX and KK3 PRO. I have taken them apart fully and can confirm that they both use the same rumble motors. The most likely reason there is a difference between your two controllers is due to the software updates they have been releasing which have both changed how the rumble motors sound/feel and have added more adjustments in rumble intensity. As for the motors themselves, they are enclosed units like the duelsense ones, and changing the rumble modes changes how those maglev motors respond. For example, in regular rumble mode they simulate traditional weighted rumble motors while the other modes try to simulate HD rumble motors. Honestly, I have to agree that the price savings going with the pro model is worth it since all you are losing are the locking triggers which I don't like and the macro recording time is 10s on the pro and 10 min on the max. The newer KK3 PRO listing even started to include 6 rear paddles and Xbox-style face buttons. Love the videos keep them up.

      There isn't much I can do other than suggesting that you open it unfortunately. But you can do it! It's way easier than it looks, film yourself doing it this way you'll have a video to assist you to put it back up together and keep the screws separate. What I do is I draw a very basic diagram of the controller and I punch the screws where they go :)

    I do have some input regarding the older version of the controller (the KK2 Pro), I got one gifted i think about a year ago? (no longer under warranty) and contrary to the brand's statement... it got stick drift over time, due to the plastic mechanism's friction and the resistance it created and even a "screeching" kind of noise. A 20%, up to a 37% stick drift specially on the left side, of the left joystick.
    This is why i was looking at reviews for the KK3 Pro and/or KK3 Max, and reviews to see if someone else suffered that, but with the new series.
    I like the build quality it had, and I guess I just had bad luck, but that makes me second guess the "no stick drift" statement. In the end I've opened the KK2 Pro controller and applied ceramic grease to it, and it helped with the noise/resistance issue, but i could not fix the drift it has, if anything since it now moves smoothly, it has more drift than before due to teh "lack of resistance" in the movement.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  3 месяца назад +3

      Indeed, there is still a physical notion to Hall effect sticks, specifically right down the center. I unfortunately cant say if that would happen with a KK3 Pro or KK3 Max but there was reports of issues when the Max launched. Not necessarily with stick drift but quality control issues nonetheless.
      Have they fixed, addressed or updated their process a little bit if at all? I unfortunately would have no idea. The one thing I can say as someone that reviews these products consistently, the echoes from bad KK products did die down a lot. Sorry that I can’t say if that’s a good sign or no sign at all.

    i bought kk3 max since the price difference here at my place is only $1 kk3 max is price P2270 which is $39-$40 depends on exchange rate and kk3 pro is price P2195 Which is about $38-$39 what i dont like with gulikit is the back paddle, you can only set it with one button unlike the gamesir T4 which you can set multiple buttons on 1 back paddle like when you press 1 back button it will press ABXY on same time.

      Indeed, the GuliKit controllers only support 1 macro through the gear button and the Max supports a lot more inputs than the Pro. I wonder if they'll let owners map paddles in the upcoming Ultra. We know so little about that controller.

    The gulikit newer controllers are kind of a mix bag, I wanted to buy the KK3 max but the polling rate was basically identical to the KK2 which I own, and I have had connection issues from time to time, so I was looking forward to the dongle, the KK3 pro seems to have fixed that connectivity issue, now if I can find a bundle with replacement buttons thatd be great, I play on PC so I want the XBOX layout, or maybe we can wait to the ultra version and see if it has the pro connectivity and maybe adjustable tension on the joysticks that would be amazing, thats why I was considering buying the flydigy apex 4 or vader 4pro.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  3 месяца назад

      Personally, I would suggest wait for Ultra or going Vader 4 Pro. Logically speaking, they both are the same price and while each have an advantage over the other, I do find that Flydigi greatly close any disadvantage and rather creates a lot of advantages for itself by having an amazing level of customization all handled through a nice software suite. From a quality standpoint though, both products do feel great.

    While I like the idea of a stripped down Max, not including all the back paddles is a miss for me. If you want 4 paddles the accessory pack plus the Pro costs the exact same as the Max. Unless you can get hands on with one first the Max just seems like the safest option of the 2.

      I have no clue if these cost money or if they're monetized in some other way; but, giveaway widgets like Gleam, Tropy (spelling?), and/or Sweepswidget exist. To me, I'd say it has more in common to the KK3 Max d-pad than the KK2 but all three are in similar range. The KK2 Pro is the stiffest of the three and a bit more steep on the edges and corners. The shape and texture are identical from KK3 Max and Pro, however, the Pro does sound and feel like it has a membrane that is slightly more stiff. So I'd say somewhere in-between but leaning towards KK3 Max since the feel and shape is identical. I hope this helps!

      Assuming that you are gaming on PC, I'd say KK3 Pro (or Max), because you have an extremely tight controller with an overall great experience delivery but also, the ability to further expand the way that you interact with your games due to the functions it provides. All that on top of what is effectively a considerably superior performance fidelity pretty much across the board.
      The one reason why I would say Xbox Gen 9 is if you are a massive shooter games kind of player and you are used to the sticks on Xbox controllers, the ones on KK3 Pro while still very good, do feel different.

The G8+ greatly outperforms the X4 Aileron in terms of latency. Basically, the X4 Aileron is extremely reliable on 125hz, it pretty much caps it everytime. The G8+ can go up to 500hz on the right modes and caps it as well. On the right modes, the G8+ is 4 times better. @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад

      The KK3 Max wasn't, someone let me know that they had improved rumble through firmware update over the lifespan of the controller, truthfully, I was shocked to find out, credits to GuliKit for pulling something this nice!

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад

      @@TS-qr3rk I would still say that the shell, which is very subjective, feels overall more pleasant for me to hold. As for other features, I still find the Pro to be overall superior in value proposition than the Max, but if the extra features the Max gets you are better, than it should be the one you go for.
      Better paying a little extra to get what you want, rather than paying twice, that's how I approach these things oftentimes.

    I really need a visual recording showing the input received when flicking the sticks back and forth in bursts of speed.
    I bought the KK2 Pro, and it completely missed my stick inputs for fast flicks in Smash Bros, essential for dash dancing/micro dash dancing. If you flick the stick right and left in 1/10th of a second, instead of recognizing the full range of motion, it only registers slight movements.
    This makes me hesitant to buy Gulikit's controllers. I need precision, good HD rumble, and no drift. I've gone through five Pro Controllers for competitive Smash Ultimate, despite being careful, as using execution-heavy characters in tournaments strains Nintendo's controllers. I now use a 3rd party wired controller, which lacks vibration but has had no issues with precision or drift for over eight months.

      @GameTechTalk  3 месяца назад

      Honestly, if flick stick is important for you, I think your best bet will be the Vader 4 Pro. I haven't yet reviewed it, barely used it if being honest but I saw in the software that it has an anti-bounce correction feature. Sounds like something you could definitely take advantage of. I'll make sure to test it when that review comes. That feature definitely did not exist with the Apex 4 and GuliKit, having no accompanying software definitely does not have a feature like that.

    How do you fix the driver error when connecting to the dongle?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад

      Hmmm, I have not had this particular situation but it can be a few things, the generic drivers of Windows could be corrupted, or mis-associated. It could be a USB host controller conflict with the dongle itself. Could also be just a weird anomaly. Unfortunately, it's very difficult, near impossible, to guide you in a specific direction without precisely understand the nature of the issue. Sorry

    wrong putthe controller in switch mode and use it with a wire on pc for gyro

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  3 месяца назад

      Indeed, that will work but that also means losing other features such as analog triggers and the 1000hz feature. The PC gyro enabled feature of the KK3 Max is different than relying on the Switch mode gyro. With that said, you do have a solution as you did point out and better yet, that solution does have 6-axis gyro versus translating 4-axis to bind to right stick axis. Thanks for the correction!

    Did you start by saying it can not record macros? Dude, the max records 10 mins or inputs, more than anything else in the market. The pro 10 secs. Did you actually use it before "reviewing" it?

      What are you on about? I literally show that it records macros at 2:23 Did you actually watch the video before « criticizing » it? 😅
      What I say is the paddles CANNOT be used for the macro playback and it is the case. It is the APG front button that serves as a macro recording/playback key.
