I get it. From what I can hear:- 1. The Nano is a 'best all-rounder'. 2. The Triangle is the loudest and most aggressive. Very scooped with an 'ice pick' high end. 3. The Ram's Head is much like the Triangle, but with a much wider EQ, making it sound more open and less scooped. 4. The Op Amp is a little more tame than the previous two, and the most different sounding of them all. Comparatively very compressed and clipped. 5. The Russian lacks the clarity of the others. It retains less of the original guitar tone, but sounds thicker and woollier. 6. The Nano Bass sounds much like the Russian. Personally, I'd go for the Ram's Head followed by the Op Amp, then the Russian.
I couldn't agree with your assesment more. Wonderful job. I actually have the 3 that you listed, but I bought them in this order.... #1, Op Amp, got to do some grunge stuff ala Siamese Dream, #2. Green Russian, very dark and wooly indeed, kinda Black Sabbath sounding doom metal, and then finally #3 Rams Head, excellent for soaring leads ala David Gilmour and arpeggiates well too.

I wouldn’y say the Op Amp sounds the “best” but it does have a unique sound compared to the others. For fizzy, high gain stuff (ok the Siamese Dream sound) the Op Amp nails it.
If this was difficult to compare... try the pedal bored review (called "5 EHX Nano big muff pedals") as he has them all engaged at the same dial positions and turns them on and off during the same riff so you can hear exactly how different they are... also has text above each sound sample to explain how they sound different to help you understand what you're hearing. I would recommend this type of format for a comparison/shootout next time but love your work normally!
I'm weary of buying a fuzz because my apartment has very "dirty" power. My humbuckers sound like single coils, it sucks ass. Roof over my head or good toan? Obvious answer: I need to move
Your demos are usually good but found it hard to compare these based on what and how you chose to play.... maybe next time have someone changing the dials and edit the same parts of the riff directly comparing between each pedal (ie riff 1 show all 5 pedals in similar knob positions, next edit is second riff showing all 5 pedals compared again) instead of playing 5 riffs all the way through with 1 pedal then all 5 riffs with the next pedal... very hard to compare what the same dials positions sound like between them all your way sorry!

I Love these Dry control on Nano Bass. Great Versatility. I just picked one after seeing this video. Couldn't be happier
I really like how the rams head doesn't fizz out on the neck pickup but still retains the tone
This video and the one from Pedal Bored is all the fuzz comparison I needed, excellent thank you very much.
Thanks!
Love my Op Amp, but the Green Russian is cool too- especially on bass
I agree. Green Russian is great for bass.
I wish ehx would re-release/update the Black Russian though
Music Bliss Malaysia: You are the best!! This is the Big Muff demo I've been waiting for. I am now a subscriber. Thank you for this vid.

One of the better demos of all these pedals, thanks.
i'd go with the nano. ouuu that sound is a beautiful fuzz.
For the single note soloing on the high strings I liked the nano the best.
Great comparison video. Thanks again

Triangle for me! Most fuzzy and nicest highs. 👍
Excellent video 🤘
Excellent comparison video but that pickup selector switch drove me insane

Nutshell
Op amp followed by nano
In this type of video it's important the camera shows the pickup selector switch

get yourself a power conditioner dude!
still worth having a muff. the fun and inspiration is worth it. also get one of those vox or fender headphone amplifiers. great for apartments.
Thx for the upload. I hope there’s a same shootout with a Les Paul.
