isn't he a hostile now? Im just asking cause bandit was "Enemy but not ingaged" something something? correct me if I'm wrong. edit i found something on the internet
"Bogey" is an unidentified aircraft. You see and are tracking an aircraft, but otherwise don't know whether it's friendly, unfriendly, or neutral.
"Bandit" is an identified unfriendly aircraft. You see and are tracking an aircraft, and have other information that meets the Rules of Engagement criteria for declaring it to be a bad guy.
"Hostile" is an identified unfriendly aircraft which fighters are cleared to engage (ie, shoot down). Meets all the ROE criteria for Bandit plus the ROE for being cleared to shoot it down.
"Contact" is basically a way of saying "I see something on my radar (or other sensor) but know nothing else about it, I'll get back to you when I do."
