    Hi Angie, I am going through the exact same thing. Litterally the same path with the 3 projects. Thank you for sharing

      Good luck and don't let one negative review define yourself

    After having covid and 5 vaccines I lost my ability to memorize, focus and analyze. I was making stupid mistakes over and over and over. No help from my manager. My mistake was to stay there for too long... I should have rotated earlier, I did not take action quickly but my lead did. I am no longer working there.

    Hi Angie, i am currently working as a consultant at one of the big 4 firms.
    I recently received a bad performance review, which made me extremely devastated and upset because I thought it was unfair. Thank you for sharing your story. Otherwise, I would keep doubting myself and feel horrible for i don’t know how many more days-
    Thank you!

    Thank you for this I just recieved a total curve ball from my director who I thought really liked how I was working!
    I feel so stupid now and feel like my boss hates me I wanted to quit (it just happened yesterday) so it just sucks but I tried to stay positive but getting a 1% promotion sucked ass and felt like shit…

    Thank you for sharing such an insightful video and also showing the flip side of the coin. Thank you for being so transparent and sharing some valuable tips
    Also, do you think sharing the impleasent things (in your 2nd project) with your DGL right after project would have shaped your year end performance review differently, would their still be a recency bias? Would love your thoughts on this
    As always, cant wait for your next upload

    • @missangielu
      @missangielu  Год назад +1

      unfortunately i cannot go back in time, but I think it could possibly, because then my DGL would look for more specific feedback (i.e. points raised that's my weakness) from my 3rd project

    That's interesting. I wouldn't want to share the issues with that project, because I don't want the appearance that I can't handle obstacles or lack problem solving skills.

      There are different ways to talk about the issue, but hiding it, having it discovered as a surprise and then losing the opportunity to tell my side of story is definitely way worse.

    Angie, Is it possible / easy to transfer offices internationally?
    Like from Tokyo office to Dallas office?

    • @missangielu
      @missangielu  Год назад +1

      it depends on a lot of factors

    • @randomy9535

      @@missangielu If so, i guess i have to choose it carefully at once when i have to choose the office locations if i received the full time job offer after internship.

    My appraisal of McKinsey's influence on business is they have issues.

  • @richard975
    @richard975 9 месяцев назад +1

    it usally comes down to impression management and image management with type-A managers who like to allocate blame to their subordinates so they dont get blamed for delays on projects due to external factors

    @jaimesmith1086 Год назад +2

    Leave that "issues" review far behind in the ashes where it belong. Angie, you go kiddo!
    By the way, how are you finding how the performance reviews in the world of tech (I believe you are currently a PM at WealthSimple) compared to McKinsey?

    • @missangielu
      @missangielu  Год назад +2

      I'd say, it's way less rigorous, and the results depend a lot more on your direct / skip-level manager, vs. McKinsey draw from a variety of leaderships you work with
