Agree. I ended up in stalin plaza on the high school trip in Prague. Went for a cruise alone with my board around the city, no idea the plaza even existed, got to the bridge under the metronome and randomly decided to walk up those 6-7 set of stairs. When i got to the top the Plaza appeard, the spot is so big and there were lots of locals with amazing different styles all ripping. Seriously one of my best skate memories. It’s incredible how many things are skateable and how perfect it is

Ahoj from Washington! I go to Czech about once every 2 or 3 years to visit family and Prague is probably one of the most beautiful cities on this planet. Everyone needs to try and see it for themselves at least once in their lifetime.

@@privateuser7 if you do your homework you may realize what a goof statement you made.. and I mean you gota do your history lessons, consider several sources of info, consider that the past is actually in the past, that things tend to evolve dialectically as Hegel put it,.. few steps forward few steps back, such as learning skate tricks takes a lot of failure, so failure means your winning.. right ? finally that life is not a competition, that humans are social animals, we dont function and survive without social contact. know how tyrannical capitalism is today and how many wars/ conflicts are being fought under a pseudo darwinian theory ie a competitive model. survival is not of the fittest, but richest.

I lived on Plaska few years ago, I almost cried now. Saudade.
At that time i was not skating, but every week i walked to the Stalin Square, skate never gave up from me! Glad I came back skating.
Prague is a special place to me, what a wonderfull city!

I have been there once. Beautiful views and a great vibe just like the whole country. I absolutely loved Chechia! Prague is a marvellous place to visit with a group of friends.
Stalin plaza is highkey the best place in the world to skate. The energy, the obstacles, the flatground, everything
I hope that Stalinplaza will never be replaced by some museum. I highly recommend to visit that spot, cuz it's worth it. Marble is one of the best surfaces for skating. And the atmosphere here is magical.

I always wanted to skate here. An overlooked spot/plaza was Bristo Square in Edinburgh Scotland. I skated it when I was over there back when I was 16 and it was absolutely amazing. Tons of guys killing it and super friendly. Had to have been over 20 people there that day. These plazas serve several purposes. Not just as a spot to skate, but a spot where people visiting from all over the world can meet up and skate, get to know one another.

My favourite plaza I've been to in all of Europe. Which means it beats out Macba and the Baustelle in Berlin. It'll be a sad day if we can no longer skate there…

2 days and its saved!!?? These guys take the cake for shutting down bureaucratic bullshit.
We, as a global community, may want to set up one or a few official groups that are designated to come in and deal with this type of shit so no other legendary spots get shut down or destroyed and hopefully, more are built.

Бывал в Сталин Плаза ранее - хочется отметить, что ему правда не помешала бы, не то что бы реконструкции, но как минимум ремонт.
Да, граффити и бутылки придают месту шарм и особенную атмосферу, но и делают его гораздо больше похожим на гетто.
В любом случае - удачи ребятам, плацдарм для скейтбординга там отличный.

Lol they made it seem all high bust and the first clip has a tourist family just walking around with their kid
maybe the family also came in after the gates were opened.
Like he said in the video, the police was walking around every hour, sometimes sooner, so it was harder for them to focus on getting lines. Usually when the skaters opened the gate, tourists and other people would go inside to see the view of Prague, since they thought its open. I myself went to skate there and managed to stay for 20min until the cops came. Cops were kicking out skaters and tourists every time they came around. But the main point of the video is that all of us were worried that they might close our favorite skate spot, to build some communist museum which they were secretly planning to do (and they have tried so many times before), thats why it was such a big deal.
@@meandric Is ist still uncertain if they destroy it? Or are they only renovating the place now and leave it as it is?
@@upgradeiself1603 They cancelled what they were doing there. In the end they said the ground was not safe, that theyre supposed to run some tests on it. They broke a few ledges and the kicker, but the spot is skateable for 9 months now.
I wonder if these guys watched love story. ..Seems like they might have! Either way it’s beautiful!

Its funny how often cities do not understand what skaters have been pointing out for years. Skate culture brings attention and affection to cities. Don't shut them down. Skaters are good people being cynical about the waste lands we create. There is meaing every where and no one better than a skater to point that out in your city.
