I love these old Mercedes vans. Amazing how the old diesel fired up so easily after all that time. That is real reliability. I bet few modern vehicles would do that after sitting for 15 years.
Ahh those Mercedes vans of the 1980s and early 90s! I remember seeing TONNES of those here in Belgium. Now those models have long disappeared but the recent generation Mercedes Sprinters continue to dominate our roads!
Especially since they don't have a engine to start haha but yes, after sitting for 15 years the lithium battery will not hold any charge, let alone the stupid computer systems refusing to power the motor unless everything is perfect and it receives the latest update from Tesla, and once it has verified with a remote Tesla service.... which the servers hosting that service went down 10 years ago
Beautifully, that you bring this old girl back to life on the road. I hope you can sell your cars, which you ever find and rescue, on good buyer in your county 👍
It's absolute madness when you see a vehicle like this composting in a field or scrubland so this bloke breathing new life into it is brilliant getting it properly on the road should give it another 15 years... Oh, I always waiting when you upload new video, thank you. By the way, could you write on film did you buy it or just found the cars on barn then you got free? Are you restore then you sell its? Thanks for the information. Regards
Hello. I would like to ask you. where do you find these cars? And why are they abandoned? Or in Europe it is easier to leave it on the street than to sell it to someone. Thank you for the video!
Hi. I've found some cars from car selling sites or some are from people. Most of cars are abandoned because they wont pass technical inspection or they have expensive issue to fix, sometimes its cheaper to buy new car. Here is not that hard to sell these cars but nobody wants to pay price that you ask. Most people want to buy cars here for metal price only.
There's a 208 petrol van near me. It's been stood for 24 yrs and i bet the a new battery, a service and fresh petrol it would probably fire right up. T1's were built to rust though.
I learnt my trade on these and the early sprinters which basically had the same engine. The only real issue these ever had that I can remember was the gear linkage on side off the gearbox, sometimes they get stuck In two gears did not need no fancy computer just one size fits all spanner (🔨) 😁
We have old rusty 310D rusting away. Kinda shame. Damn that thing is slow. But, runs with WVO, doesn't need electricity, lasts forever and "turns on a dime".
In India this vehicle is called tempo traveller manufactured by force motors and only major difference between actual mercedes is they're made from leftover mercedes parts😀!
Vocês poderiam dizer o motivo pelo o qual os carros foram abandonados, pra gente poder entender o porquê do dono ter deixado o veículo aí já que em pouco tempo vocês conseguem religa-lo.
Could you tell the reason why the cars were abandoned, so we can understand why the owner left the vehicle there, since in a short time you can restart it.
I don't know the story of this van specifically, but Estonia has rather strict yearly technical inspection for road vehicles. That means brakes, emissions, lights and bodywork must be in really good condition. Sometimes, it's cheaper to buy second car instead of getting the old one worthy for inspection. Selling the car for scrap is not profitable in the countryside, since towing costs would be too high. And driving without inspection is illegal. So the cars are parked until there is enough money and motivation to fix them or scrap metal value goes high enough that they get recycled. And then there are some people who look for cars like this through ads, social media and word of mouth in order to make videos for all of us to enjoy. Such is life.
I love how he fires right away and starts within seconds of cranking.... after sitting for 15 years!
These old Mercedes are a reliable force!
Thats why i absolutely love Mercedes, 540.000km, stands for years and starts like its brand new 🔥😍
Older mercedes I adore, but modern ones just don't have that same flare anymore
These old ones are great indeed. The new ones are absolutly crap with timing chain failure at 100.000km.

He may get them running but most of them are so rusted that they can never be used in traffick again.

These videos are awesome! I’ve really learned a lot from these videos from cars!
Thank you!
Fired up that quickly even after 15 years. Absolute unit. 👍
I have a 208 d. I am glad how you bringed it back on the road.

Another classic and cool van from Mercedes Benz! These were still so popular to drive in the 90s, too. When I was born and a little kid...
How smooth the egine is after all those years of sitting
Wouldn't be a Mercedes diesel if it didn't sound like a robot chewing shotgun shells.
That noise would be mainly injector knock......common on old mechanical diesels
Good job for put this beauty back on the road :) it's a 307d before 1983 only 4 cylinder and 65 strong pony ;)
That started up very well considering how long it’s been sitting
This is a good, reliable car. But it rots very well, too.
Those old diesel engines are absolute bulletproof and keeps on running forever! The rest of the bodywork just rots away like you’ve said!
It is expected on a 30+ old car with 500k km especially parked outside in grass with moisture.

Mercedes engines are really impressive
are all those abandoned cars your own? or have people who just dumped with you
The vehicles you do videos on are they all yours and if so how many vehicles do you have??
I think I remember him saying somewhere that he has over 90 if I'm not mistaken, however this van isn't his, he just helped someone out.
