The Help is one of the best books I have ever read. Also the fastest,I did not want to put it down! There are so many great characters, hard to choose a favorite.
First novel! Kathryn Stockett please write another. I know it is so hard, and no good works comes quickly. Your book changed my life. It has influenced me to purse my dreams of writing. Waiting on your second! Thank you KS 🙏🏼
Got this book only today. Already half way through. Just an incredible story. Can't wait to read the rest tomorrow. So far: funny, moving and heartbreaking. Thank you Kathryn.
I’m the same age as this woman and I remember hearing mother say “how my great great father got to witness how African Americans where treated in the States. We had help growing up and my mother treated them with dignity, like family, People sometimes forget that the help in the house is like family because they come in contact with the family, for heaven sakes they are the ones that with their hands prepared our daily meals. They are the ones that also nourish us growing up and a bond is grow.
Really? So, she gave you inspiration to steal someone else's story huh? Well....if that's all it takes to be a writer...then by all means....be inspired...
At the end of the Help audio book, you hear Kathryn talking about how she would cry because she thought she was ugly. Completely not true. For a 40 year old woman, she looks fantastic!
As a man I expected this to be a chicklit book that I would not read past chapter 1 or 2. However I started to read it on recommendation and was soon into the South in the 60's and found myself enjoying it thoroughly. It is depressing, uplifting and at times laugh out loud funny. Well worth taking the time.
@@hiddenflower862 I believe she did steal it. Her hesitation, body language, and eyes say that she’s lying about it and was uncomfortable during the interview.

She did not have permission to share the stories and did not credit those women.

She is one of the reasons why I wanna be a writer.
Then do as she did....find someones story and steal it...write about it..then smile all purty for the interview....
Miz Trigga no, not steal somebody's life. Never. She did that for real.

It is always amazing what people find "attractive".

Rick Pat seems that the ones who think that they are ugly are very attractive. She is gorgeous!

gosh!!..
the help is a great book.
Some folks...have never had an original thought of their own. Must be nice to interview about how you felt, knowing your work was something you stole.
Miz Trigga just because she is white doesn’t mean she can’t write about black history and the struggle they went through
Oh shut up. She didn’t steal anything. She’s writing from their perspective
