Good morning zeelicious food. Your recipe made me liked pottage yam and veggies. Naturally I didn't like this meal at all. But I wanted to eat it once this year, so I decided to check online and I saw yours. I have never seen my mom make it this way, that is why I don't like it at 1st. So I made it the exact way you showed us and my food was awesome, I have not stopped eating it. My husband has been singing my praises. So all praises to you Zeelicious. Thank you

Hi Winnie! I just tried this recipe and it was delicious!!! Thanks so much! I’m a follower of your page and I’m liking all the foods you cook and your recipes. Great job!
Thanks for this video, I am certainly fixing this dish tomorrow, its the core reason why I am here watching your video on how to knock up a tasty Yam Porridge dish. Thanks a lot for this, I find it really helpful, easy to follow and above all, its really the 9aija way of fixing this dish as against doing it the oyinbo way.
Who else noticed that Winnie talked about people that cook the yam half way before adding the sauce but forgetting that she did the same in one of her Yam porridge recipe a year before this recipe. 😂😂😂 I love you Winnie.😍
God bless you sister, I always enjoy your teaching, u have a good spirit, I'm trying to get my 9ja born in Greece wife into 9ja taste, she's very good in Greece varieties, and your video is helping alot...peace
I am always enjoying your cooking series Winnie and you are also a beautiful woman who has always a smile on her face. Keep doing the good job..greetings from Suriname (South America)
omg I reside in the caribbean and I use all your recipes. They are awesome from your rice to your soups. Now how much salt should i use. you generally never stipulate. You are doing a great job
Thank you so much for this feed back! Means a lot. For me, I always go with a sprinkle of salt or 2 sprinkles depending on the quantity of food I am cooking but it is always best to add salt a little at a time, that way it is easier to control.
Awn so grt... yr cooking is always so grt. You said to comment for u why it’s called portage well I’m not so clear about it but growing up I was told that porraige is more like for pap and all dat like d 1nc with sugar while portage is for d oil and salty types not sure though... I’m glad wit your cookings so clean and neatly done.❤️❤️❤️
Anything for the sizzle lol. Thank you so much for this, i never made my yam porridge this way. *the yam must soak it* 😂😂😂 I'm going to get a change. Blessings and love to you ❤❤❤
I LOVE your personality and style!!! I am married to a man from 9ja, so I rely on you a lot. Do you think you could do a video on cutting/peeling yams? Those things are hard!!!!
Hello Winnie, nice watching u cook. I really enjoy ur style of cooking. Thank u for opening my eyes in cooking techniques. I love the way u prepared d yam pottage. I will start using dis method.
Pottage a stew of vegetables and (sometimes) meat and Porridge soft food made by boiling oatmeal or other meal or legumes in water or milk until thick.... from inference i prefer pottage
Watching in 2019! 😊😊 This is also the way my mum makes Asaro, except she pours the sauce into a pot of pre-cooked yams. I think I prefer this method, though. Thanks Winnie!
Hi Winnie. what other oil can I use. Trying to avoid using much palm oil for health related reasons. By the way, you are amazing. Just stumbled on your video and got hooked. Love your smile, Miss Winnie. .Turn that kitchen up!!!!
Hahahahhahaha...turning it up all the way! For this recipe, you have to use palm oil but since your are trying to cut down on oil, what i"d suggest you do is use very little quantity and then make up for the lush red color with a lot of tomato/tatashe/pepper blend mix.
You dont need palm oil for nigerian recipes, you can just use any vegetable oil. It just then doesn't taste like palm oil, which some people also prefer.❤ The flavour of the fried onion, tomato puree and crayfish is what makes the taste.
Thanks Winnie for this, and the party jollof rice video? Was awesome...I’m dancing cos I can now confidently make party jollof rice...thanks to you Winnie. Please try and make coconut rice too. Love you lots and your voice too
Thanks for the video. Could you please include specific quantities... like half a tuber of yam may differ depending on the size of the yam to begin with. Also a porridge is a dish consisting of oatmeal or another meal or cereal boiled in water or milk while a pottage is a stew or soup. Hope this helps
I did not know what pottage is, but in Jamaica porridge is oatmeal and anything similar (corn meal porridge, hominy corn porridge, green banana/plaintain porridge, peanut porridge).
I got US and tot I was going to die of hunger buh here you are teaching me how to survive. Darling ve been cooking like ve been doing this all my life and all thanks to you. God bless you real good. And ur smile..... Hmmm

@@ZeeliciousFoods same here...o, I can confidently say, you taught me how to cook party jollof rice...thanks beauty.
Thanks
Endurance Brown you are welcome!!!
the different between porridge and pottage is that porridge have sauce in it while pottage they will allow the sauce to dry up
Beautiful! I noticed your porridge did not stick to the bottom of the pot. How do you prevent the sticking or burning?
I used a non-stick pan...but even tho you aren't using one, ensure your heat is set to medium-low and not high...that was it won't burn.
I did not know what pottage is, but in Jamaica porridge is oatmeal and anything similar (corn meal porridge, hominy corn porridge, green banana/plaintain porridge, peanut porridge).
You are such a cutie. Am sure it turned out perfectly delicious. 😍❤
Thank you so much!
