That's awesome Jason and it definitely screams "you"! I'm too much a fan of the rhythm circuit - wish they had that as an option for Jazz/Jags (agree with you I'd happily pay for that option). As always amazing tone, great playing, and awesome to hang out for a few mins with you virtually! And I'm pretty sure Foo Fighters is now Dad Rock (at least according to my kids ;)) and what we've been calling Dad Rock is now Gramps Rock!
Thank you!!! And yea, I agree I think adding the Rhythm circuit would be a cool option that I think a lot of folks would go for. hahaha, yea...Foo Fighters is dad rock...So, I guess I should change my dad rock preferences...or I could say BluesDadRock! lol.
Thank you!!! Now that I've had them for sometime, I'm definitely stoked to give my thoughts on them! Definitely got a ton more Jazzmaster related content this year! Quite a few pickups I can't wait to review.
I bought a Player 2 Jazzmaster in blue after your recommendation. I love it so much man. Thanks for the tip. How do you think it compares to you new one?
@@GeoffByrdMusic awe!!! Thank you! 🙏🏾 and it’s entirely different. I love the Player 2 and think it’s a solid choice. I think the Mod Shop is a great upgrade from the Player 2…however, I do think the Player 2 has the better pickups.
I love when we as guitarists get to the point of knowing exactly what we want & figuring out how to get it if no one makes it. This is the case with my MJT VTL "Pineline" Thinline Tele. Knew exactly what I wanted and I made it happen. Pine thinline, maple neck ebony board, relic'd, a cabronita-esque version of the thinline pickguard in a red tort, reverse bridge, lapsteel style tele bridge pup, TV Jones HiLo tron neck. Now if only I could get a custom Revstar as well I'd be pretty much set.
@JasonTMays I mean it was years of thought and research to figure out my Tele, specs & how to pay for it. So just go for it might be a bit of an overstatement. But once the wheels started rolling it was happening.
Grats on the new guitar. Looks amazing. I do love a rosewood neck. Sounds fantastic too. I've messed around with the mod shop, and like you, was a little disappointed in the lack of certain features for certain guitars. I'd love to be able to spec out a baritone Jazzmaster with a rosewood neck. That'd be... *chef's kiss*
Been contemplating making a hardtail Strat from the Mod shop. You're right that there isn't a lot of options with the offsets. Having a rhythm circuit and different options for pickups are a big deal.
Dude, do it!!! I think the Mod Shop is a cool way to get a unique "forever" guitar. But, yea. I wish they would've added the rhythm circuit...at least for the Jazzmaster. Although I'd imagine that would push it towards the $3k mark.
Dude! I was pleasantly surprised by the creamery stuff! I will say after NAMM I may just put some lollars in here and just play around with different pickups.
This is why I’ve been on a partscaster kick the last couple of years. I know what I want/like but it’s always across a couple different models. I might pay a little more in the parts but, I get what I want and that’s what matters
I think that’s the most important aspect is getting exactly what you want. And for me, I understand that. I think it would be cool if the mod shop cross pollinated between different parts.
Dude! I love my mod shop! And I love Novak pickups! If I wasn’t doing a video on the creamery jazzmaster pickups. I would’ve opted for novaks, ep customs, Duncan’s or lollars.
I did a mod shop jaguar a few years back because it’s the only way to get a non-Cobain lefty. Fighting the daily temptation to order a matching Jazzmaster
they sent me updates and I was definitely tracking it. But before you purchase it they give you an estimate of the lead time, which is roughly a month.
I would LOVE an option to add Humbuckers instead of standard Jazzmaster pickups. Sick guitar & video! 🔥 As for my dream guitar… I’m not sure. I’ve spent so long playing other artists signatures that I wasn’t sure of what I LIKED. But I just got a Les Paul Modern Lite that I LOVE, it’s the perfect Les Paul for me & I want a red player ii Jazzmaster. Both of those are a result of your videos 😅 I’ve known I always wanted an LP and have been into Jazzmasters forever. Maybe a LP Junior cuz inspired by Green Day. But I need more experience playing out with people to see what my dream guitar is depending on my needs. But who knows maybe I already got em!
Dude! A humbucker route would be an awesome option. And thank you! Both of those are indeed awesome guitars. I’m glad I was influential in helping you land on those. I will say if I was influential in doing so…don’t watch my video on the studio session cause you’ll be buying another guitar. lol. But thank you dude.
short answer NO. custom shop is for show offs only! when i see a custom shop, i know its gonna be some boring ass blues rock from a lawyer in a hawaiin shirt and raybans

Great content and playing as always! Looking forward to the video on the Creamery pickups.

Dude, a custom revstar sounds sick!!!! And yea, Im glad Im not the only one who knows what my like are and just go for it.

@@GitShiddy Oh, It's definitely a bit of an overstatement. lol. But, yea It definitely takes time and research. But id love to see your tele sometime.
@@JasonTMays With permission I'd be willing to DM some pics to your Instagram.
Send them my way!!! Im curious.
Yooooooo this is so dope (I love a full rosewood neck)!!! Congrats on the new signature model and killer playing as usual!!
Dude!!!! I missed you so much at NAMM!!! Thank you for all the kindness! And I’m just trying to get to your level of playing!
That guitar is beyond beautiful. The tone is amazing.
Thanks bud! Glad you dig it! I’ll have to bring it to work one day for you to try out.

Dude!!!! If fender added a baritone option in the mod shop they’d make bank! That’s a good idea!

What a fantastic guitar! Well done!......and you make it sound great too!
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏾 I appreciate the kind words.
Actually the American Vintage II pickups are available now in limited quantities
Well crap basket...I should've waited. lol.
So proud of all your hard work Jason !!! 🙌
Thank you, Courtney! I will always love and appreciate you!
love the walnut, love the vibe! Still need to check out some creamery pickups- their wide range stuff always comes up in the wrhb conversation.
Dude! I was pleasantly surprised by the creamery stuff! I will say after NAMM I may just put some lollars in here and just play around with different pickups.
Really Sounds great and that pickguard was such a nice choice for the overall look.
Love this content 🎸 🔥
Thank you my friend! 🙏🏾

Been playing a mod shop jazzmaster for the last 4 years. Favorite guitar ever! Did swap the pickups for Novaks early on though

Dream guitar: Charcol Frost Metallic Jazzmaster with traditional circuit and 1 3/4th aluminium neck
@@killroy123 ohhhhh!!!! That sounds metal af! I LOVE IT!
I did a mod shop jaguar a few years back because it’s the only way to get a non-Cobain lefty.
Fighting the daily temptation to order a matching Jazzmaster
I know I'm probably a bad influence. But I say go ahead and do it! That Jaguar needs a matching sibling. lol.
Those pickups sound great 👍🏼
Yep! I like them! 👍🏾
G&L has a similar build-to-order option. I'd be curious about the difference in experience getting a customized Doheny
That would be pretty interesting, maybe I should reach out and do a video.
My specs pretty much exactly like yours. And no matter the body shape I always pick the rosewood neck. Unless they bring back the channel bound neck.
I see you are an individual with great taste! And I agree! That channel bound neck is nice! 👍🏾
Did they send you any updates letting you know that they were working on your guitar or that it shipped? Or did it just randomly arrive

That's a really nice looking JM! Is it heavy? Rosewood is pretty dense stuff. Looks like it might be a candidate for No.1?
Oh answered my question about the weight! LOL, finish watching first? Nah..
@ lol. yea, she's got a little bit of weight. and its surely a candidate for number one.
Those creamery pickups sound amazing! What model are those?
Thank you! They’re the extended width.
ha honest take - it DAD ROCKs reallll well.
Bahahaha! The dad rock is strong with this one!
Ohhhh…. Beautiful 🎸
Thank you!!! One of these days we’re gonna have to get all of our offsets in a room together!
Oh the number of HOURS I have on the Mod Shop site...
Dude! I’m still going there looking at making a matching Jaguar.
Don't forget the matching Meteora!
Ohhh!!! If they put a Meteora in the Mod Shop it’s game over!
7:07 I know you like Jazzmasters Jason, but you WHAT in your jammies?
LMAO!!! I arrived early. lol. 😂
You did what in your pj's??? 😂 sorry, im a child
