In this tutorial, you'll learn how to beautifully embed coins in resin, creating stunning art pieces or functional items like name tag holders and keychains. We’ll cover the materials needed, the preparation process, and the step-by-step instructions to achieve a clear, durable finish.
#### Materials Needed:
UV resin
Coins (clean and dry)
Silicone molds (coaster or jewelry molds)
Mixing cups and stir sticks
Gloves and protective eyewear
A heat gun or torch or lighter (optional, for bubbles)
Sandpaper (optional, for finishing)
#### Steps:
1. **Prepare Your Workspace**: Ensure you’re in a well-ventilated area and cover your work surface to protect it from spills.
2. **Clean the Coins**: Wash and dry the coins thoroughly to remove any dirt or oils.
3. **Pour a Base Layer**: Pour a small amount of mixed resin into the mold to create a base layer for the coins.
4. **Position the Coins**: Carefully place the coins into the resin, arranging them as desired. Ensure they are submerged but not touching the bottom of the mold.
5. **Add More Resin**: Pour additional resin over the coins until they are fully covered.
6. **Remove Bubbles**: Use a heat gun or torch to carefully pass over the surface to eliminate any bubbles.
