It's a bit of a shame you guys didn't put more effort into actually setting the bikes up properly, it's kind of miss leading when you give yeti a perfect 10 and the scott an 8 simply cause stock YETI setup worked for you out of the box with some clicker adjustments and the scott didn't... i'm no suspension guru but i can easily make a fork more progressive with some volume spacers and air pressure adjustments... the smart move would've been to not do a direct comparison if you couldn't test the bikes fully.
@@brianrowbotham4010 All Fox dampers work for heavier riders but not for light weight rider like these guys. They mention balance between the front and back. That's the problem with Ransom. The rear shock doesn't work too well with the front setup
I think with the cans in the back being so different, there’s room for improvement on both builds for linear progression over the stroke per rider comfort and terrain. Not to mention that when I rode my Scott initially, after a short time the Twin-Lock becomes more natural and compelling as a positive and not a negative, as reviewed here as subtlety negative. The reach condemnation seems more like mates agreeing with each other based on similar riding characteristics, instead of devils advocate. However, love the context and the deeper dive into a full comparison of the best 170 travel bikes in the stream on a brilliant enduro terrain test ride. The Scott will outperform the Yeti at the bike park however, and match the Yeti’s capabilities over the Enduro sections, so truly the Scott is the best of both worlds. Cheers!

I demoed both bikes recently and I definitely noticed the flex of the Yeti. It wasn't terrible but very different from the bikes I was riding this year. At 6'-1" and 190 lbs I think I noticed the flex more than a smaller rider would though.
I test rode both of these bikes . I preferred the Scott , and so did everyone else ? Just like buying a new car , it just depends on who is driving/riding it .
Why did you put a DH casing at the front, while only a DD casing at the rear? Wouldn’t it make sense to do it exactly the other way around, since the rear wheel gets bashed way harder?

You guys don't look so young that you never used a front derailleur? And if you were in to "all mountain" when that was a thing you should have spent time with a dropper and a 2x shifter. The twin lock isn't any more difficult than that. I can see a newb having problems, but seasoned test riders have no excuse for not being able to try out something new and give it an honest review.

If we remember correctly, we had been testing the bike for some time, then we had to give it back for an event over a weekend, then got it back to take to Switzerland, and although everything seemed exactly the same, someone had added lots of low and high speed compression damping. So we reduced the H&L compression damping.
I am thinking to buy a 2019 in los Anglees area..I am very trumpeted but I am wondering about the long-term reliability of this bike vs a Pevit switchblade or Yeti SB 150...Can you help me with this question? I'm too worried about leader support as well rear-shock service
The bikes were tested extensively outside of the race itself, and settings optimised for the bike test editor as he was actually conducting the test and rating the bikes.
6 or 7 grand for a bike is ridiculous and quite frankly outrageous. I can go 3 to 4 grand but almost double that is daft. You can get a decent car for the price of these bikes!
Yah, it is a lot of money. Save a bunch with the drivetrain. Just go with Gx Eagle or even Nx Eagle. They work just fine and you can save a lot of money.

the cheapest ransom i have found is just under 3000 euro and I really think it is worth it. you can always buy a good xc hardtail for 500 bucks, even much less but you would never race enduro or ride crazy rocky steep hills with big drop offs with that bike, i mean, you can, but say goodbye to your knees, wrists and you are probably going to crash more, go slower, and have way less fun and more stress. so in this market, you get what you pay for. these bikes are aimed at enduro racers or freeride enthusiasts. not your average bike rider. have a nice day:)

You're right, we didn't. As we didn't do any back-to-back timed runs it's difficult to say emphatically, but anecdotally we'd say the the Yeti felt faster over long 6 minute plus stages because it was more composed and we used less energy, so we could ride harder. If that makes sense.

Or would it be close to a dead race? I do know you can not answer that question with any precision at all, but since no-one has tested these bikes head to head, and probably no one will, I have really no idea at all. Ah, the million dollar question. Without wanting to disappear down a rabbit-hole of wheel size pros and cons, we tend to find we are faster on 29in wheels. So in this case, we'd probably be faster on the Yeti than the Nomad. Also the sizing is better on the Yeti. But, without testing them back to back on the same track we couldn't say definitively.

Apologies for the ads, but these videos aren't free to produce. In fact they're really quite expensive, so the only way to cover at least some of the costs is to run ads.
Why does Yeti have such a reputation as a mega expensive “lottery win” brand?! The Yeti was a huge £200 more expensive than the Scott in this test and way, WAY less than an S-Works Enduro. There are loads of top spec enduro bikes in the £6500-8000 range, not just Yeti. I’m not saying they are cheap, but this reputation just seems to be nonsense that gets repeated from review to review.
Yeti's new line up is fraught with problems. The 100, 130 and 150, many owners left dissatisfied and Yeti refuse to deal with the issues. The 150 is advertised as clearance for 2.5 tyres and yet it rubs hard with 2.4 tyres, this is unacceptable from a high priced boutique bike. The switch infinity has already been recalled and yet is still causing issues despite the update. These issues highlight why short term reviews are useless. The Scott however; actually adjust the shock correctly by removing bands, swap in a Grip 2 damper and you're laughing all the way to the podium.
GRPABT1 so basically exactly what we said about the Scott - a great bike that would be even better with a Grip damper in the fork. We haven’t heard of any issues with the latest Switch Infinity, although there could be. True, short term tests will never highlight long term durability issues.
I didn't like this guy on the left. He kept talking over the guy on the right. Made the video unpleasant. Can't imagine what his wife goes through if he has one.
Bikes and bike parts are overpriced. $900 for one fork when you can buy a set of four performance Bilstein shocks for $600. They are raping the consumers.

There was something wrong with the bike you rode? I have demoed it and no way it’s got any level of flex worth mentioning.

Only time will tell. We’ve heard of Kashima wearing out in the UK but the new system is better protected so hopefully it should be fine.

Beacause maxxis dh is 2.4 better traction for front. And dd casing in back is 2.3 for speed

I have WTB 2.5 Vigilante tires on my SB 150 and no rub,, I am unaware of the recalls from the switch infinity,

Simple reason for that: at £500, changing the tyres is 10-20% of the overall cost of the bike. Even at £1,000 it can be over 10%.
