As someone who got into heavy music during the peak of the Nu-Metal craze, I've always wished it would make a comeback. This is exactly what I was hoping it would sound like.
Nu Metal is honestly my favorite genre I was a wee baby when it was popular I was born in 99 so this resurgence of Nu Metal is amazing

Same here. I think Nu metal has been creeping back ever since Suicide Silence's Black Crown (even has J Davies from Korn in there). It's good to hear people mix the groove with that heavy loose bounce that Nu Metal has. Now that it's got this status. it will never go away

it's got some real Stabbing Westward undertones to it and I mean that as a compliment - those guys were a bit too ahead of their time, Darkest Days is a killer album. Of course I am writing this from the future where Obsidian happened and NOBODY is making music like that! (again, compliment)
As someone who has suffered mental and physical abuse from his mother since the age of 5, this album made me feel like I had been seen. Also instrumentally this album is everything I could ask for

After listening to Alien on repeat for a week, I think I figured out why it’s called Alien - It’s a term for feeling disconnected and alone around everyone else, feeling like a stranger.
Just like in this vid, the kid feels like a stranger to his parents and when he grows up the disconnection strengthens even further.
Same with Talking Heads for example, in which the protagonist feels disconnected from his own mind due to the "talking heads".
This basically occurs in every song, so it should be the overall theme for the album, which would be a really cool concept.

@@Klevaer Are you a professional mixing engineer to say that? Theres a lot of creativity and preference in mixing, not all artist have same lows,highs etc. I dont think theres a staple in that.
@@shivr3270 I wouldn't say I'm a professional but I do have 200+ songs I've mixed under my belt. I'm not trying to say the songs are bad or anything. By no means, those two albums are major influences to my songwriting. I'm just giving my opinion. I think they'd sound better with a little more low end. 🤷

Some just don't have anyone to go to, so they just have to persevere and make it out by themselves, which is hard to do being that many of those situations lead to suicide

Northlane and Nolly, best two things to ever collide.
Nolly mixed, Chris Blancato produced. Although tbh I prefer Will putney of Node and Mesmer to this. Nolly's mixes are flat and boring imo without anything standing out.

@@Raksh95 strongly disagree about Node. Node was solid but not ad good as these mixes. Guitars sound fluffy and the whole album isn't as dynamic and the instrument tend to be almost a bit more separated from each other
@@DLCoker666 but the separation and isolation made it sound more dynamic imo. Lots of texture and in your face. Everything else after almost sounds muddy in comparison. Maybe because it was unnatural?
