Hi Dr. Spear, 4th year dental student here. thank you for this informational video. Question ~ why is tissue likely to recede upon placing a margin 1/2 the depth of the sulcus in tooth with probing depths >1.5mm? Amirali
I am a diesel mechanic, I have never went to school for dentistry, but it stands to reason , What I recommend doing is before you start any procedures, is take you a blunt periodontal probe. Put it under the gum next to the tooth and actually measure how far it goes. Without damaging or detaching any tissue before you start any procedures so you know how deep you need to go so you don’t get into the tissues that can cause inflammation . This is the only way to know how deep you can go depending on the patient’s anatomy .
Dr. Spear, thanks for the invaluable information you just where so kind to share with us.
