When I turn on layer my layer box is not working. It is grayed out. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Go to sheet properties and choose suitable scale for your drawing view.

1 question how about transferring/ importing layers to another templates/drw files, i cant do that. I've tried on Documentes Properties (right tab by Systems Options) "Load From external file..." but it doesnt import all layers. it just import some of it. E-mail me please if you have the answers.

***** Thanks for answering my question, yeah it seams to be like you said, because i have A1, A2, A3 and A4 templates, and i organize the layers in A1 (forgot to create inicially) and then i was trying to transfer to other templates. Unfortunately, like you wrote, its not possible.
      Thank you again for clearifying.

Can i help me ! How creating layer dashed auto?

+Nang Pham To create a dashed layer, use the Layer tool discussed around the 1:00 mark. If by automatic you mean certain objects automatically are dashed, that's discussed around 2:45. If by automatic you mean you don't want to repeat these steps every time you open a drawing, go to File > Save As and save as a drawing template. If I've misunderstood you, please send me a private message so I can give you my e-mail address and we can try and work this out with the assistance of pictures or videos.

+Nang Pham I sent you an e-mail, but I am still confused by the wording "to be dashed his follow the installation layer". I think contacting your local reseller of SOLIDWORKS will help you out faster. Sorry for the confusion.

+Shivani Patel Nang's question was about having "Hidden Lines Visible" automatically be selected when he inserts drawing views. This can be done by going to Tools > Options > System Options > Drawings -- Display States > Hidden Lines Visible.
