    Just wanted to say your reviews are really good mate. The level of detail is just right and they are completely honest which helps us all make choices of what to purchase in the future. I just wish you worked for MCN and was able to test loads of different bikes! Keep it up.

    I just received the ace cafe model of the bell 500. I'm very pleased with it too. Just need somewhere to go now. Very great value with a peak , a full visor and a lovely bag like yours all included. Nice one.

    Hi Stuart, another great video that even though you say was'rushed' is still up to your usual high standard. Looking forward to see how you get on with the goggles. I've been considering an open face so this was - as always - very informative.

    I have the Bell Bullitt which is in my view a brilliant compromise between an open face and full face helmet. It deals with the visibility problems of a conventional full face and is also nothing like as claustrophobic with the visor down. If you get the chance to review it then it would be interesting to get your views.

    Hi Stuart, just thought you may consider testing the Davida SpeedsterV3. I ordered one from the UK as they are still handmade in England! Amazingly it arrived in Thailand in three days. The quality is brilliant with removable/interchangeable leather interior liners. Another bonus is the excellent protection from wind and road noise. The best I've tried for an open helmet. They are a bit expensive but in my opinion superbly finished.

      Hi Roger ill look in to it when i can, i would love to review a few helmets but cost is a major issue for a channel like mine, bear with me!

    Thanks Stuart, a very informative video. I've always liked the look of this style of helmet, and with the goggles it will achieve a retro look.

    I've bought a Davida Speedmaster V3, thinner removal lining and a vast range of colours. Beautiful fit and and the lining looks a little thinner than the Bell. It's made in the UK if that makes any difference to you,.

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  7 лет назад

      Yes I know Davida they appeared in the early 1990s. I did look at them, I think they are a bit expensive for what they are, and not all googles are compatible with them due to the small shell,. plus as I say I like products with some history behind them, its just my personal choice! thanks for watching and for the comment!

    I have exactly the same helmet and I love the looks of it. The only downside is that it makes my head look a bit big.

    Looks superb! Can't wait to see how you get on with it while I'm cowering in my full face. To think in the 60s I went without a lid often as not. Must not have been as many bugs about then! Did you look at Davidas? Great channel, really enjoy your vifs and commentary. Thanks.

      lol I have a shoie neotec and I find myself lifting the front up all the time as I like the open face feel. so I thought id give it a try. yeah looked at Davida but they only started in the early 90s and like I said I like a bit of history. plus your limited on the choice of goggles that will work with them, Thanks once again for taking the time to watch matey it is much appreciated.

    I too own this helmet and it seems high quality, however, if you have a big head and need XL or XXL none of the Bell visors and screens will fit which is unacceptable. I eventually bought a Bob Heath Jet visor which you can make fit with a little heat. Also the press studs on the Bell accessories are so tight they are almost impossible to remove without damaging the fasteners. One final gripe is the helmet doesn't have any way of securing the goggle strap at the rear of the helmet so its really difficult to wear goggles without them slipping.

    I have this helmet and I love it. A hint. You can wear the helmet without having to put on and take off the belt at a time. Just relax, put the belt in front of the face and put on the head.

    Just wanted to say my friend, I love watching your video's. Why is it you can have 50K viewers on one video but have less than 1K subscribers? How does that work? Looking forward to your tours / trips and keep the video's coming! More commentary on your rides please! Music is OK...but I for one want to hear what you see and feel.....sense....smell...well you get the picture! TCRSM8

      Thanks for your comment Paul, and of course for watching! As for the views to subscription ratio I'm as puzzled by it as you are, I have absolutely no idea how it works. Don't worry there will be more ride videos as the season gets under way

    Hi Stuart, I hope you're still checking the comments from this relatively old video. I'd like to know how this helmet dealt with wind noise, particularly relative to a full-face helmet (which I think you have too). I ride a 2018 Speedmaster (not so far from your Bobber) and at 60 mph+ it's impossible to hear the engine (and so my gear selection is based on speed) and it must be at least 100 dB inside my helmet, seriously. So, how is the noise issue with this one? Thanks in advance.

    while i understand the appeal, 35% of motorcycle crashes ends up with a direct hit of the jaw with the asphalt. that's more than 1 third...I would never, ever trust such an helmet. I'd prefer having all my teeth than to look cool :D

    • @stuartfillingham
      @stuartfillingham  7 лет назад +10

      Yes I keep hearing that statistic being thrown around. ive ridden 35 years and quite a few of those years were as a police motorcyclist. ive visited many grisly bike accident scenes and in such accidents the result is usually death, severe brain damage or paralysis. The chin bar on full face helmets often creates additional leverage and can break the neck more easily. At the end of the day biking is inherently risky and all the safety gear in the world wont save you if you hit something hard enough!
