Great content man !1 typically how much over spray could I expect on door frame spraying ? I was wondering how much mm of masking I would have to go round the door frame to protect the walls
Yeah I've tried that , very messy and you always end up with Vaseline on the door frame or door edge its a complete pain in the arse plus I've got to admit I haven't got the balls to put Vaseline on the hinges then completely spray over them I've only tried it with a brush cutting into the hinges. We need someone to try it out maybe I'll grow a pair and try it on one door first. Thanks for the comment
2 ways i do it i remove all hinges.. spread doors around room and spray . When done stack then against each other..cover with plastic... and ive only done this twice etch prime hinges and paint same as door. But I'm dealing with 22 doors
I hear what your saying but I'm on a price on a building site , the price wouldn't cover the time to take the doors and put them back on again plus there heavy as hell being fire doors and they are a complete pain the ass to rehang them by yourself . I have tried that way and it took way to much on a price . If it was my own job I would price it up bearing in mind how long it takes to take them off then rehang them but I work for a company the the prices are set. Regarding the hinges there's no choice but to keep all hinges clean , it's just the way it is on a building site so it's just trying to find the best but also the quickest way To paint these houses on a set price. @@camdecorations9779 with 2 guys i can hang 22 doors in 30min on my own 1 hour .. fire doors are heavy but I'd still do the same.. try it on a house. Buy the time you have masked 3 hinges id probably have 3 doors off.. I did start of doing it that way but to many muppets were crap at masking and you would end up having to clean the hinges anyway...
Masking hinges is amateur. We have our hinges, we take you off hang the door on 2 of our hinges spray the door and casing. then later we sway the hinges back to the originals. they are always perfect not a speck of paint on them.
Fast? So you do production? Fast is only fast, if it's constant. You stop...fucked up everything and others are doing the work..paint your nails..toes..fast lol.

Can’t remember where I seen it, but try Vaseline on the barrel of the hinge, it just wipes off after
