No matter how much the youth of our country tries to spread awareness about mental health, the society ,especially the parents will never understand it. And that's a sad reality.
Edit: well, some parents( the cool and modern parents) may understand things about mental health/ illness, but since india has majority of DESI parents, I think these parents would never understand it. Saying this with an experience.

The reason why teens are so depressed today is because instead of going out into the worId and carving out a pIace for themseIves as they had done in the past, they are now kept Iocked up in cages under constant surveiIIance, cut off from the world without a voice. At around age 12/13 is when the drive to self-actuaIize starts kicking into overdrive. The innate human desire for freedom and independence naturaIIy manifest as rebelliousness. All caged animals react this way. Independence is undesirabIe in a corporate economy, so this behavior is derided and written off as immature “teen angst” whiIe chiIdish compIiance and obedience are rewarded and upheId as signs of maturity.
EventuaIIy, caged animaIs give up and become resigned to their fate, and we are no different. Except, in our case, we are made to believe that this is a good thing. We are all sold the lie that giving up on our “childish” hopes and dreams and accepting mediocrity means we are “growing up,” and the saddest part is that we believe it.

I too felt really relatable after watching this video.its almost same case as mine except I don't have any sibling .i am suffered from anorexia i become really thin i started eating 300 calories a day.its was not because I wanted to be thin .this felt like I have control on myself because I felt that I had control over nothing it was the worst feeling i ever felt i never told my parents about it.later i searched on Google and found that I have anorexia .i started self recovery i do started eating more but now I am struck in a cycle of binge and restrict eating disorder. I am still not fully recovered and don't think I ever be. i cannot share this with my parents ,they think me as their perfect girl who is first in everything.along with anorexia i had depression, self-harm,suicidal thoughts but I did get over but still they are some days i feel sad without any reason and hide my sadness with a smile.

Tears were filling my eyes throughout the whole video, but they fell continuously at the part where her mom came in and she hugged her. I wish my mom heard me. I don’t have an older sibling, but a younger brother who is… developing very slowly for his age. My parents are very kind with him for this, but they have high expectations for me as I’m the oldest normal girl. My grades are pretty high, I’m studying well, but I have no idea what to do with my life. I’m just a puppet with people telling me what to do and me obeying them. If that’s not enough, I’m very introverted (INFP) and kind of shy, have social anxiety and am emotionally weak. I don’t know why I can’t tell my parents about this, maybe because I’m used to making them feel proud of me, and I don’t wanna ruin it. Besides, by the way they’ve been talking to me, my parents really don’t believe in depression. So I’m scared to tell them, I think. I don’t know myself, and I don’t know what to do. I hate my personality, my looks, how unhealthy and skinny I’m getting, how I’m half blind, how… so many things. But I’m sure there are others like me out there, and I feel like we should just come together, hold our hands, and support each other as only we know how we feel. We all really want to get out of this mess, and I hope we can together.

Woh sirf exams hai, age aur bhi tu mushkile hongi agar aaj es exam se dar gai tu kal badi badi problems kaise solve karogi. Be brave. Be patient. Aur ha trust in God. In addition to this, I don't have appetite and I have a really bad insomnia. I want to speak it out loud but the another me inside myself keeps on saying not to speak. I used to be popular at school but now since I don't pay attention to anything, my grades are getting down, my loss of interest in something I loved doing.... I am getting bullied. Increase in pressure by family, relatives, society and teachers is making me feel depressed. I- I loved this video to be honest.

Our parents don't understand our situation...Sabse competition karna hai. ache marks chahiye acha college chahiye. Kisiko humari padi nahi haii. Koi nahi dekhta hum kis samaye se guraz rahe hai... ab toh khud pe bhi doubt hone laga hai phir next moment khud ko encourage kar ke kuch karne ki socho toh phir wahi purana lecture...a complete failure🙃. Zindaagi mein jitne din nahi jiye uthni baar toh meine self doubt kiya hai. par ess sab ke bawajut kisko apni padi hai. purane zamane mein yeh depression kahan hota tha hai na? depression toh market naya hai...aree bhai marketing karo uski😂. tum ro lo ya maar jao kisi ko koi farak nahi padta. agar koi yeh samjh jai ki time ke sath cheeze badeal ti hain toh shayad kal humari next generation ko enn sab se guzaarna na pade.
