Wow! Brian Kinwald is so young! Also, white shirts were the trend back then I guess. We all wear black ones for the most part nowadays lol.

I was into black tshirts in the 90s, started racing at my local track and the sun was hot and I realized why the other guys where sticking to white tshirts.

where it not that white shirts where sponsored drivers or something in line of that?
remember on one race i had a white reebok shirt during practice and got told by race officials i had to change it to the main race as im not a sponsored driver.

I was in highschool during this time and the cars felt fast then. Looking at it today, we have come a long way.

Since I was into nitro in this era, they always seemed slow to me...hahaha

Yeah and this is modified buggy... The 17.5 blinky class buggies could put a hurtin on these cars.

A lot of the slowness is the tight layout and the grip. This is not carpet.

This was selected as a Nats track?? Jeez. Seems like a club race. And that announcer is so dynamic 🙄

SC came long after this.. also these were brushed DC motors and NiMH batteries sub C. No 5.3 GHZ radios either. Meaning you had to track crystals.
