A long standing favourite of mine with the most soothing and transporting melody repeated within - you know the bit though I'm afraid I lack the musical terminology or vocabulary to accurately describe it. And Beecham too: just magical! Many thanks Jayne.

Sometimes the magic is in the pauses and sometimes time just stands still.
Beecham well understood the music of Deliu,s and Delius knew Beecham was his best exponent. Thank you so much for the kind comment.

If I could travel back in time, I would want to meet Delius so that I could thank him for helping me find solace and hope in a chaotic world.

Me too, Delius would have been even more out of place in this modern world, but his music is what the world needs now!

...Thank you for these lovely musical notes, Jayne Anne...They fall like Spring rain drops and form the most beautiful patterns on leaves...The beauty of this music is in stark contrast to the Darkness visited upon the great Northern City of Manchester this evening (22 May 2017)...More innocents swept up by the Madness in our World...My heart goes out to all whose souls were shattered...I am including a piece by Faure...Before today's event, it was to be in loving memory of my fellow Parachute Infantrymen who fell in the A Shau Valley during the Late Summer/Early Autumn of 1967...Were we that young once and so full of Life...Did we walk on the edge of a razor for that long a Time...This piece of music is then also, sadly, for the souls of Manchester...At such times, I recite the words of A.E. Housman to myself as I did many dozens of times in the Vietnamese Jungle...It was a way for me to focus on what is truly important..
    "...The thoughts of others
    Were light and fleeting,
    Of lovers meeting,
    Or luck,
    Or fame,
    Mine were of Trouble
    And mine were steady,
    So I was ready-
When Trouble came..." ...Blessings to all points of the compass...James Patrick Casey, Esq.

Your words are much appreciated James. How barren we would be without bird song in Nature's Realm and with out such words of the great, yet modest poets and such music that bonds us to something primeval beyond the here and now. Houseman ...... just one of those inspirational poets. G. Butterworth and F. Delius, so different, yet with such depth of expression in musical tones.
Will check the link....Thank you again very best regards to you Jayne Anne.

Mel Torme and George Shearing did a lovely version of this song.Torme was a big fan of Delius. He was also a member of the Delius Society.

George Shearing was also a member.... there's something about Delius, Jazz, melody and chromatic harmony that goes very deep indeed.

I can be a bit Delius averse but this must be a masterpiece by any standards: structurally rhythmically, orchestrally, melodically and especially harmonically: this in particular is amazing and I'd guess without parallel in 1907 (pace Grainger). Plus the climax is truly and wonderfully ecstatic and this performance is naturally ideal. Bliss.
