“On the 12th of October, we had guests all the way from the USA staying at &Beyond Kichwa Tembo camp in the Mara Triangle. On a private afternoon Safari drive with the guests and our guide, Oscar Taiwa, Mike and Suzie Moll seemed to enjoy the bush and the sightings of the animals. We got to an area where we came across a leopard who seemed curious about something in the grass. Knowing that the leopard could be preparing for the hunt, the guide stopped the vehicle and we watched for a while. Between the bushes - the hidden creature became clear into view and we realized that this leopard took an interest in a HUGE African Rock Python!”
“It wasn’t long after we spotted the Python when a full-on battle broke out between these 2 amazing animals. Initially, it was a feeling of surprise for everybody as this kind of sighting is just so rare! For a moment it seemed like the leopard lost the battle when the Python started wrapping its coils around the leopard in an attempt to suffocate it, but with miraculous agility, the Leopard managed to free itself and jump out of reach, biting and clawing at the Python. Each of these creatures met each other’s fierce combat strategy to survive, but they knew that there will be only one ultimate survivor.”
“In the end, the Python was defeated with numerous puncture wounds on its body, especially on its head area. The leopard also had injuries with an obvious wound to the right front paw which could be clearly seen as it limped away from the scene. I have never experienced an encounter quite like this before and it was also a first for our guide Oscar!”
“As with any leopard sighting in the Mara, the sighting spot got very busy very quickly, so you can imagine the excitement amongst the guests but most notably the guides. This was really such a unique sighting and we’re very lucky to have also caught it on video."

The Leopard is so confident and not afraid of the Python at all. From this interaction, we can tell that this Leopard has already encountered Pythons before. This Leopard knows how to deal with the Pythons.
What surprises me is that I have seen a video of a python eating a crocodile alive. A leopard is significantly smaller and less powerful, but still managed to kill the python. Of course, may be the python was smaller.

You can tell this Leopard grew up with 2 brothers, one a bit stronger than him and a father who let them wrestle jujitsu for an adequate amount of time, which is rare in todays 20th century’s leoparding with the ever growing need to create safe spaces. In fact so much time was allowed for play this leopard was able to incorporate a few rare manoeuvres passed down through his family lineage. Incredible form on the Rumble up, followed by a solid 3 tap paw plough, but what really impressed me was the timing and execution of that Snap Lock Roll Over summersault. 🤩

@john Driscoll actually they are very good hunters that specialize in killing crocs larger than them with that strong neck and bite they can actually bring their kill up a tree to feed on later I believe their night vision is the best of the cats
@Iron Monster I agree it may not have been its first python encounter. It behaved like it knew exactly what the python was trying to do.

I love leopards
But Jaguars are the most agressive cats on the planet, even kill piranhas and crocodiles in the very water. Jaguars have a stronger bite force than any other big cat, canine, hyenas and bears. They fear nothing and many times people confuse jaguars (from Central and South America) with leopards (from Africa and Asia). Very different cats. Jaguars are the undisputed Kings of the Rainforest.
@@vocaljazz5046 good Cat knowledge!
Did u know (as silly as it sounds) that the domestic house cat is actually considered the most deadly cat in the world? Purely off of the fact that they kill more species then any other cat and the only reason they do it is bcuz of there instinct/bloodline. Obviously, big cats kill to eat, to protect, and to survive. But domestic cats kill just to kill.
Most Powerful Animal Bites -
1. Saltwater Crocodile
2. Great White Shark
3. Hippopotamus
4. Jaguar
Bite force is pushing it a bit. Even lions generate stronger bites.

No,its the instinct that asks the leopard not to let the phyton constrict around him
Can we really be sure that the leopards evasive movements are a results of pure instinct rather than a result of both instincts and experience hunting snakes? Why do you think they go? Most want to learn about these animals that they have seen in TV shows and/or books. Most folks who chose this type of holidays do so for a reason ie. they like wild animals, some of the group/family are so uninterested that they stay back at the lodge, not interested in seeing any nature, during dawn, day, dusk safaris...

lmao
"Why is he not running?"
*Because he doesn't need to chase this prey.*
The leopard wouldn't be so confident if he hadn't been a huge cat. I guess they haven't heard that cats have very fast reflexes.
May I have your IQ score? Why on earth does the leopard have to run, in this situation?
@@前川次郎-v9e somewhere in the 140s as a child. In English, "quotes" are used to indicate the words of others.
Because no one said them 1 2 3 and Run
The guide doesn't seem to know much about leopards...
It was not the guide, it's the tourist who doesn't know about leopards
@@unholyexorcist7314 When the guide was speaking in Swahili he still thought the leopard was getting killed
cats family most efficient killer.🤦
“Why is he not running?”
Nobody is running away from their meal 🍽️
Wow the reflexes and and agility of felines are unmatched!
Mongoose technically, but different kind of animal.
The leopard is smart enough to avoid being 'coiled'
You right the cats are smart they move out fast before the snake twirls
How does it avoid it? Just jumping out of the chokehold? It's really hard for me to see through this video what's happening
@@defnotatroll His movements were very agile, he almost twisted himself in various positions whilst jumping upward and then left and right, plus his claws and teeth, the Python couldn’t quite get a good grip on him, you can see the leopard leap from the first coil attempt. The Snake relies on its force and coil power whilst a leopard has agility, bite force and stamina.
What a fantastic Predator, the agility and reflex are amazing.
The lady said "Why isn't the Leopard running?" Because the Python stopped attacking, the Python knows the amount of energy it would need to defend itself or constrict the Leopard would be too much for it too handle. In the long run, the Python will lose it's stamina and the Leopard will kill it.
phyton: finally a meal
leopard: my..oh my...what a snack
The leopard is one of the swiftest animal in the animal kingdom. The only thing the python was constricting was air lol
The agility of the leopard is crazy it’s like playing on the highest sensitivity lol
My house cat makes the same kind of jumps when I try to take him to the vet.
I could not believe that those tourists actually believed it was the leopard that was in trouble...
This leopard has mma skills from back when he fought in pride.
that leopard is like a ninja.
That leopard knows its story very well, just when the python thought it had him wrapped, the leopard jumps to avoid it
Wow! What an extraordinary encounter. I have been lucky enough to come across very large pythons whilst on foot safaris in the Nepalese jungle where tigers and leopards are the apex predators but never imagined such encounters occurring.
