  • Charlotta solo (no AI) speedrun of Lucilius (The Final Vision Proud Quest) in Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
Build is included at the end of the video.
I was pretty close to sub 9 minutes in my previous videos so thought I'd try a bit more to break it. I was debating whether to use Charlotta or Sandalphon but eventually settled on Charlotta since she is a bit more consistent - Sandy needs to rely on more perfect dodges during the run.
I managed to get the sub 9 after finding a strategy to avoid every single Paradise Lost after Labors.
If you go full-throttle unga bunga with Charlotta, you will normally end up eating 1 PL after Final Rebellion 2, since SBA won't be ready in time to cancel it.
To get around this I ended up:
    - SBAing his PL at 45% immediately rather than hitting him as his bar fills up. This let's me gain SBA bar for the next one sooner.
    - Deliberately delaying DPS at just above 30%. This lets Luci go into another long attack sequence before Final Rebellion 2 and gives me time to build more SBA bar.
    - Slot in Nimble Onslaughts, which I use during Final Rebellion 2 to build more SBA bar via perfect dodges.
    - Slot in more Uplift for SBA gen.
The above gave me enough to SBA cancel his PL after Final Rebellion 2. The problem is that I now don't have SBA ready to cancel his PL after Gopherwood Ark.
To solve this, I had to try and break him before he charges the next PL. This was tricky since it relied on doing enough damage and only seemed achievable if he did a long attack sequence right after Gopherwood Ark (and mines) and before PL (which was somewhat random).
I eventually found a consistent way to get the desirable pattern.
    - If he goes into Gopherwood Ark immediately after getting his PL cancelled, then his next attack chain after Gopher (and mines) is usually (always?) a long sequence.
    - To get this to happen, he needs to be at 20% health or less when you SBA cancel his PL. This meant you had to race to get him to 20% ASAP after Final Rebellion 2.
    - Luckily, the previous "delay" tactic at above 30% helps with this as he starts Final Rebellion 2 at lower health.
    - You also need to slow DPS at around 50% so he doesn't start Overdrive with too low health. Makes it harder to break him in time if he does.
I did get hit a couple of times in this run so sub 8:30 is possible with better execution and Labor luck.

"“According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a potato should be able to fly."
Nice run and good work avoiding Paradise Lost! From what I've gathered in my runs, there's about a one minute cooldown (including when the in-game timer is stopped during Final Rebellion) on him casting it and he'll attempt it as soon as possible when he finishes a combo and returns to "neutral". So after you SBA him at 9:52, his next Paradise Lost attempt would be after the combo beginning at 10:45 most likely. Plenty of time to break him out of Overdrive!

      Yea that makes sense.
I guess the PL cooldown timer still keeps running during Gopher which is why often he will just mines into ball drop into PL after - in which case I won't have time to break him.
Since I SBA cancelled him right before Gopher in this run, one minute hasn't passed between PL and post-Gopher ball drop so he starts up another combo.

Great run! I've been wondering, I know how to do the lower to the ground power strike, but how do you do the power strike where it basically looks like you're on the ground? At around 1:00 you go: Noble Strategy -> Dodge -> Power Strike -> Dodge -> Power Strike. I've been wondering how to do this for a while but could never figure it out.

I believe it was done by using Holy Ladder and then dodge cancelling into power finisher.

Yep, the super low one is done by Holy Ladder cancelling. It's a bit faster than normal Lunge so I try to squeeze it in where I can.

I find it kind of funny that Sandalphon is there as a guest to "help"
I seriously didn't notice is he normally actully.. helping? aside causing Overburst when the other 4 already doing 4 chain full burst 😂😅

He does a tiny bit of damage and can heal you. Nothing really impactful.
I actually prefer him NOT being there cause he can trip mines sometimes and get you killed...
