      yeah he's definitely a stand up guy that cares about things like public image and legacy especially after having grown up under his father. Sort of like Ken Griffey Jr. from a make up stand point.

    First time I'm excited to go watch a SF Giants game since Ha-Seong Kim came to town.

      You mean Jung Hoo Lee I assume. Ha Seong Kim is Lee's buddy in San Diego. I hope Jung Hoo does well and I think he eventually will. It's just a matter of how long it will take and then how successful he becomes and if it's high enough for him to consider opting out after 4 years.

      @baseballnowhighlightsnewsa2611 I go to SF games when the Padres are in town. Now there's a reason to go to Giants games.

    Thanks for the video. I am a Giants fan and know nothing about Jung Hoo Lee or KBO. Very excited to see him play and to see how Giants improve this year. I really like how you talked about his character, sounds like a solid person. GO Jung Hoo! GO Giants!

      Thank you. Yes, imagine him like Ken Griffey Jr. growing up around the game and becoming the next one. Would be really interesting if SF could get him to bulk up 20lbs or so to go with his contact ability

    How do you guys feel about Woo Suk Go? Would it be smart for my giants to pick him up as well?

    • @baseballnow1
      @baseballnow1  10 месяцев назад

      I think Go is capable of being a set up man and possibly a mid tier closer in MLB. My only concern is that he doesn't draw a big enough contract from a team to satisfy his Korean team to let him go. If I'm his Korean team LG I'd want at least $5 million dollars as a posting fee or what's the point of letting one of your best pitchers go? Problem is to get that $5 million an MLB team would have to committ at least $25 million to Go plus the $5 million to LG so would a team want to spend $30 million on a guy who is unproven? I'm not saying it's not possible, but I think ideally I'd want to pay him more like $15 over 3 than $30 over 5 or 6. His '22 numbers were: 4-2, 42 saves, 1.48 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 80K's in 60.2 innings. This past year he battled injuries and had 3 different games where he allowed 4 runs. Erase those and he's his old self or better. Giants wouldn't be a bad place for him if you don't mind spendin that much. A bit less pressure working behind Doval and company maybe with a chance to develop into something my in '25 and also have Jung Hoo Lee there to help each other out. I'd say not a terrible fit but all about the money. Jee Ho believes St. Louis is interested so we'll see.

    The rumor is JH Lee and HS Kim are good friends is it true? If so would having Lee and former padres manager Melvin help recruit Kim to the Giants when he’s a FA 2024-2025 off season.

    • @baseballnow1
      @baseballnow1  11 месяцев назад

      Yes they are very good friends. They attended the Korean series together last month. They were the core of their team together for 3 years and Kim made the move to MLB 3 years before Lee had the opportunity to do so despite it being his dream since it being a realistic goal after winning ROY in 2017 so it would've made Lee want to be even closer to Kim the last few years eventhough they were no longer teammates

    Fyi, giving 2 yrs penalty time is for protecting kbo's league. We dont wanna lose all the high potential young kids to foreign leagues. especially since all fa mvp players are leaving kbo for mlb nowadays.

    • @baseballnow1
      @baseballnow1  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah I didn't know they had that penalty but Jee Ho brought it up. Definitely something to consider for top high schoolers.

    I don't quite understand why Woo Jin An is getting crucified for bullying which seems to have been a thing that only happened in high school. Like I understand that bullying is bad but I don't quite understand why it's being held against him 7 years on.

    • @baseballnow1
      @baseballnow1  10 месяцев назад

      The Bullying thing has been going through a "Me too" phase in Korea for the past 5 or so years. He's definitely not the only one. But yeah, I'm pretty sure he can't wait to get out of Korea. Once he succeeds in the majors everyone will forget about everything.
