How to Add Linux Host into Nagios Server Monitoring | Tech Arkit

Monitoring Linux host using NRPE - Nagios remote plugin executor. check_nrpe is the plugin which will execute remote host plugins and collect data and store in Nagios server. Depends on reported status Nagios will send email alerts to appropriate contacts.

Hello sir.i have one query.when want to just ping then you have used check_ping while for other services you used check_nrpe first.can you pls share the reason

Ping uses icmp do not required additional plugins, even you can use ping command to do that. Check_nrpe used NRPE client mechanism to check the service status .

5:55 here I can see that you have a file "linuxservers" inside the cd/usr/local/nagios/etc/ . I dont get that file at all. Therefore I cant do this step 10:36. Can you please Help me

why i have this error : CHECK_NRPE: Error - Could not connect to 192.168.232.150: Connection reset by peer

there are so many reasons
1. Firewall rules not in place from server and client side
2. SELinux issue
3. Service is not listing on client
4. Client is not pointing to correct Nagios Server (IP might be wrongly specified in config file)
5. Check config file has comma instead of space where your mentioning IP adress

If you want to display ip address it is easier to use the command "hostname -i" instead of "ip addr |grep inet" , thanks too much.
