The missile not locking on a target in snow is actually insane. These cameras lock onto the contrast in the image. Hence why you see them hitting the windows of buildings or the shadows of a bridge. The dark tank against thr background of the snow should do nothing more than increase lock range due to the heavy contrast. But, as you said. Gaijin code.

The su25bm got some weird quirks. Maybe your video will enlighten me, but the following is weird: you can use the tv sight even when you dont have any tv weapons (press laser sight button then press tv sight button) but you wont have any zoom. However if you use a tv weapon you can switch to the tv sight even after using the tv weapon and the sight not showing up in the view rotation and it will still have zoom. To use the laser weapon you then have to fire it while not in the tv sight (can't fire it in the tv sight) and then go back in it. The laser will not track where you are locking but you can change the location where its pointing with the target lock/sight stabilisation keybind, so just spam that and then its basically tracking where you look. This is insanely janky and maybe you know a better way. Exited for the vid. :) @Hunter_i86

I don't think so man, in the Gaijin code all TV weapons are IR, if it is really optical dark color tanks would be locked easier in white snow environment because track lock range is less than usual too.

despite the ka52 carrying better weapon loads, i only use the mi28s

6:18 its not the temperature that matters, the ground is a uniform color and so the optical seeker has very little contrast to lock on to

Yes! I tried it against a Harrier, 1st msl on Mav, 2nd msl on Mav and 3rd msl on Harrier, all of them impacted. 🤣
