  • Trading Tips and Rules for Day Traders www.financial-spread-betting.c... PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! Next, we discuss emotions and how emotions affect your trading. Don't trade when upset; irrespective of this is because of naughty kids or an argument with your loved one. Being emotional when trading is dangerous so let your 'anger' cool off before trading - trust me on this you will save yourself a lot of money in the long run. Redoing.
    Also, avoid mobile calls or e-mails when trading - trading is a difficult game and you don't need anything that will make trading harder than its already is. It is very tempting to keep checking your e-mails - by all means have an emergency setting.
    Only risk what you can afford to lose. The market doesn't care that you've been on the losing end. If you can't afford to lose it, chances are that you will lose it. Don't compromise your family finances!
    Don't Gamble! By all means trade based on methodology/system but don't gamble like looking for the 'thrill' of the 'win'. Understand what your strengths and weaknesses are.

    "only risk what you can afford to lose" it's funny, I thought about that a lot, we all say that but I don't think anyone can afford to lose any money. Perhaps: "only risk what won't make you homeless" might be more accurate haha

    Had to hear this, blew up my 3500 account after taking stupid trades. Focusing on various patterns when I know that I am the most profitable on momentum trades that happen within the first hour after market open. Taking a few months away and spend it paper trading with a $500 account and continuing to study. Fantastic tips!

    I was reading through the comments and see i made one myself 5 months ago. Maybe that's why i'm already (pretty much) following these rules. We internalize these lessons then forget that we didn't even know them beforehand. Great work, Mark, as usual. Thanks for all your help.

    Distractions used to be a big part of when I traded. I checked my phone, emails, took breaks to look at my phone etc... once I put those all down my trading improved quite a bit!
    Great video!

    Loved the 5 Tips. Really liked the one about taking a break. Our emotions are in flux 27/7. I don't believe the people who say you have to be emotionless. Being in fear and getting out of a winning trade to quickly is something I see old timers do. This latest pullback in the markets has shifted us all. We're more fearful and that's ok. I was shorting a stock I think it was Wynn on the afterrnoon when the SPY finally bounced. I treated it like a pullback and got walloped. So I'm back to putting in stops. We have to pay attention and always adapt to the new normal. I do Totally agree on the "don't trade if you've been fighting". My son is becoming a pilot and they have a substantial part of their job which is risk management. Their rules I have adopted into my Plan. Friday I broke one of those rules and had a red day. I was tired. Should not have been trading nor flying a plane haha. Great Vid Thanks again mate.

    +UKspreadbetting. Thank you! I've learned so much from your videos! I swing/day trade the stock indices, and have an issue with trade entry. In other words, I have a tendency to enter trades too late, or too early and get stopped out even though I'm right on the direction of the trade...horrible feeling! Is there any advice that you can give me on how to correct this. I trade candlestick patterns with stoch lines and I'm working on identifying support and resistance on daily/intraday charts. Do you have a twitter acct? I'll follow you, looking for a mentor...I'm trying to make this a full time thing...

    • @ukspreadbetting
      @ukspreadbetting  6 лет назад +1

      Getting stopped out too frequently could mean your stops are being set too tight. What are you basing them on?

    • @project0077
      @project0077 6 лет назад

      UKspreadbetting my stops are based on a percentage of my account. I've got a small acct and I'm only willing to risk no more than 5 to 7%on each trade... thanks again!

      @ukspreadbetting  6 лет назад +4

      In that case you might want to reduce your trade sizes a bit so as to allow you to have wider stops.

    I can confirm arguments are very detrimental to trading or anything involving risk for that matter. Had one with my toxic parents the other day and I lost half of my account when the day before that I was green and feeling quite confident. I am stuck with perhaps one of the worse asian parents in existence. Extremely annoying, arrogant, naggy and with stubborn old fashion beliefs. I find it almost impossible to not be emotional when daytrading whenever she is around and she is always around since we share a tiny space.

    what if you embrace losses and WORK on it" MANAGE IT " dont take losses place another trades just to break even or even profit small or great amount ? just like when i trade i worry/plan about my loss 1st thing in my mind i know im gonna lose when i took a position from there i know to manage it like a PIMP/Hustler LOL, If have losing trade i just held it and next thing you know your profiting from that losing trade. its contrarian or Swing what ever you wanna call it it works not all the time BUT at least you have 3rd option not just buy and sell.

    Number 4 ... how not be gamble when it's all about gambling? We set stop loss we not sure if price will hit or no... even without stop we still don't know. . We just trade based on possibilities

    FYI: Watching your videos today when, from over my shoulder, my 34 year old says, “That guy never stops with the sexist remarks!” What?! “Yeah,” she says. “It’s guy this and guy that, never acts as if he knows women and girls are trading.” Never thought about it before so I listened more closely. Hated to admit it. She’s right! My daughter trades a much larger account than I. She had the benefit of me putting her through school. Great kid. Won’t be able to listen the same again. 😳
