- It can be tricky using purples, plums and lavenders in your eye looks. The purple palette can make my eyes look tired, red and exasperate my dark circles if I'm not careful. Today I share my work arounds that work for me when wanting to wear those beautiful Spring colors.

You have taught me how to apply my makeup correctly , and suggest products that I now use and don’t know how I ever got along without them such as the BK Beauty Brushes, that have changed the look and feel of my makeup look and application. I could go on about foundations that you have suggested that I would have never thought about trying , going from high end, to drug store brand , as well as the importance of using serums, what to look for in a serum, and being consistent ! We are on the same wavelength concerning eye shadows. I have also been combining warmer shadows with cooler. It brings life to the eye look. I've also been experimenting with strategic use of colors. I think a touch of lavender and lilac look so good with brown eyes.

Absolutely stunning, Jill! I love the purple/plum colors so much and I don't think they're used often enough. Also, the lipstick color was absolutely perfect to go with your whole look! Beautiful look, Jill. I love plum and purple eyeshadows as they really make my blue eyes pop. I do have to go more towards the brown / sandy shades for my transition colour nowadays though. I can't pull off a full on purple look like I used to!! 😂
What is it with brows? I know people say they're sisters not twins, but mine are more like step-sisters! My right one is the most awkward, which of course it would be as I'm left-handed so doing my right brow is harder anyway! 🙄

I'm left-handed and my right eyebrow was always harder to do. So I started doing it first - you can always make the easier eyebrow more closely match the harder one.
@@MyCleverHandle That’s exactly what I do. Hinky brow first then match the other one to it. Some days they match better than others though! 😂

You mentioned something about “if you were beginning a starter kit” (paraphrasing here 😊)… have you ever done a video on that before? I would love to see it!
When I was young and lovely 😂 I didn’t seem to care all that much about makeup so I never accumulated a lot of brushes, etc.
Maybe one fluffy blush brush, one eyeshadow brush (I think it was double-ended… one end for light colors, one for darker, lol. I know, I was such a dork.
Now that I’m up in years (almost in the clouds), I want to tinker with makeup, as I’ve had to start doing with helper hair. So, if you could point me in the right direction👇, I’d be very grateful. Thanks 😊
Purples and plums sparingly is my jam, so I don’t look like grape jelly. lol. I love how it brings out the green in my eyes, but too much purple just shouts PURPLE on me. Like you, I like a neutral base and transition, then a smidge of a heather shade with a plum liner works for me best. That said, I rarely do it! lol. Have you tried the Smashbox Step by Step powder contour palette? Very customizable for contour, bronzer and highlight as you can blend shades together to suit your skin tone. A light dusting offers a subtle effect and looks natural. The highlighter does not have shimmer, but somehow captures light easily. Have to use gingerly, but I sure love it. Enjoyed your blush technique! I need to try a little on my forehead. Thanks for the tutorial!
I always have a problem with doing my concealer around and on top of my eyes. My eyes get red and later on feel like I put it on the inside instead. And I love how you plan out your makeup so strategically!!! This probably my problem-I don’t!!! You teach me so much-thank you!!!❤

That cream blush stick package must be from the same manufacturer as Wet n Wild gets their blush stick packaging. Because my WnW blush stick lids do the same thing. They never stay on from the start, then they end up cracking. The blush is lovely, but man the packaging sure does suck 😆

How do you keep the lower lid makeup from not smearing?

This is all I wear on my eyes. I have green eyes and pinks, purple, lilacs make green eyes pop.
I only wear a bit of plum during the winter months.’

Hi, Jill! Always enjoy your tutorials. One comment, automatic focus on your camera is really distracting. Many times, it is focusing on your hand and not your face, and we can't really see the detail in your application methods. Can it be adjusted or turned off?
Hello! Yes, I am aware. It’s because my camera is very close to me. Due to my setup and space, it’s just the way it has to be. I usually can edit it out. 😉 No, I can’t take it out of auto focus or the entire video would be blurry most the time since I don’t have someone filming me. 👍
