As a Statistical Analyst and Relocation Specialist, I consider "affordable" to be no more than 25% above the national average. At the moment, the average home price nationally is $420,400. In SC it's $380,400. In NC it's $375,400. So, SC is 9.51% below the national average and NC is 10.70% below the national average. Of course, these are averages across the whole of each state, things can change, and housing costs can be wildly different from one area of a state to the other. Fortunately, the average home prices in suburban Charleston counties of Berkeley and Dorchester are right at the SC state average. So most people can affordably be relatively close to everything in the Charleston Metro Area. Great video!
