Neal, thank you for providing us with such amazing content. I've subscribed to your channel and will be sure to go through your courses on Udemy. The way you explain concepts and the bonus diagrams makes it easy to grasp these technical concepts. I was able to implement Direct Connect (and Direct Connect Gateway) successfully at a Mega Corp by applying the skills and knowledge I've gained from your teachings.
Well done. I work on the carrier side and the majority of what we build are hosted VIFs, anywhere between 5 to a few dozen customers sharing the connection(10gig). Very few direct connects. Subscribed!
There are three types of VIFs supported: Private, Public and Transit There is also 100Gbps connection available Also you can use MACsec to improve DX security (only 10Gbps and 100Gbps supports MACsec)
Thanks for bringing this up. I am preparing for the AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty exam, and your comment will help on any questions about connection options. The video is still one of the best I have seen on this topic.
