VPD have won when it comes to the package. The mix of the code 3 Z3 with the rumbler is so powerful, and the lightset ups are simple but very bright, having majority of chargers is awesome
They also have amazing officers. I don't know what their hiring process is but it seems to be working. Very patient, professional people. Working for BCAS we get to work across all municipalities and VPD were always top notch.
Wow, you got a ton of great footage - awesome video! Interesting seeing so many cars/sedans - Seattle is almost entirely SUVs now. I like the Vancouver variety more.
Thanks a lot Lucas! 😁 Oh yea, the variety has always been great for VPD. They even still have a few Crown Vics kicking around, but unfortunately I never managed to catch one responding (also narrowly missed one in Seattle one time 😭). VPD is also adding more and more SUVs to their fleet (the common trend in most of North America right now), but at least VPD is still relying heavily on the Dodge Charger. Consider coming over for a few catches now that the borders are opening up again?? 😉
Hello TGG! I was one of the first to view (there were no views when I clicked on this video), because I subscribed (not trying to promote myself or anything, just that I clicked on the video right when I received its notification)! Really like the VPD cars in this video, especially with their lights and sirens on! 3:06 I hope the baddies get caught!
Nice compilation! Love the rumblers too! HiLo sounds great with the Rumbler. Also, did you see my newer comment on the video of Truck 8 responding with the electronic siren? If not, I was saying that I found out that they actually do have dual sirens! I think that the Dual Tone isn't able to play though because they only have 1 siren speaker. I got an inside look at their engines and ladders a few weeks ago. Very nice firefighters there.
Amazing compilation!! As you asked, here are all (I think) the moments when the rumbler siren was heard. 0:40 0:58 1:48 2:08 2:39 4:45 4:56 (you can hear a quiet low frequency siren in the background.)
Yelp, wail, howler, rumbler, piercer, horn and whatever else, how is this variaty managed? Is there any automatic system that chooses the right kind of signal or is this done manually? And are there any rules when to choose what? (I´m from Germany and we have just the two-tone-system and the normal horn)
It's manually selected by the officer. The Rumbler (low frequency) is added in when the officer feels it is necessary. Rumblers only stay on for about 8 seconds - not all the time. Many departments will hook up the horn on their steering wheel to the siren controller so a tap on the vehicle's horn will activate the Rumbler for 8 seconds, and often change the siren tone to something more urgent as well.
1:48 is this Euro-style siren a new addition to emergency vehicles in BC? I recently started hearing them on Surrey Fire trucks (Ladders specifically).
No it’s not a new thing. VPD has been using the ‘hi-lo’ tone for years. For other agencies it just depends on whether they have that tone programmed or not. It’s definitely very rare to hear on fire trucks in BC.
No because they ren't good. Mustangs are much better police cars because they're faster. The Crown Vic is useless against a Mustang. try racing a Crown Vic and a Mustang together. The Mustang will DESTROY it
Who can point out all the moments in the video when the Rumbler siren was heard?? 🔊😁

2:08, I understand your feeling when you tried to catch police car, but the windshield had not allowed :D. I met these situations many times.
Yep…that was a challenging situation, but at least I captured the sound (Rumbler siren)! 😆
