The D-class before the bearded man wasn't attacked for a reason, it carries pestilent agents within him that are respected somehow by the bathtub entities, depends what crimes they do. The old man on the other hand was attacked mentally because it is resistent to unholy attacks, it may be innocent ffs.

SCP-1299 An opened portal to an acvatic underwater place of despair, entities similar to Leviathan were bonded to that object to appear, most likely they are drowned souls that got possessed and now serve bad roles for the pestilence, if a ritual was made into that tube combined with the energy of water then is a layer opened between realms there, the world of humans and those of the restless dead. Better to destroy that object in fire.
