Bro as for the Scarfo reference/comparison whatever you want to call it.....I think you were spot on with it. You were simply pointing out the similarities and character flaws in their personalities. These traits and others are the common links that all of the worst of them share. I understood immediately what you meant, what you were trying to say. Mancuso has the same warped mindset as scarfo. While all of these guys are criminals and are just not very nice people there are some who are very highly regarded for the way they conducted themselves, for their intelligence and ingenuity, longevity and achievements within the world they existed in. No one, at least nobody with a brain and any knowledge of Cosa Nostra would ever compare Mancuso or Scarfo to Luciano, Costello, Gambino or the Chin. They were, within the world they lived in great men, great leaders who shared many of the same traits as each other just the same way Scarfo and Mancuso share the traits of a Neanderthal such as Casso. I can totally see how Mancuso, especially if this was an earlier Era like the 70's-90's could easily give little Nicky or Dick and Ass (Vic and Gas) a run for their money on how to completely destroy a mob family. Your title on the comparison of Mancuso and Scarfo was not lost on those of us out here who have a better understanding of this genre as well as an understanding of the methods and tools that a good writer or journalist employs to get the attention of their audience. Like a title stating something comparing Bellomo to Gigante. Anyone with any knowledge of the two would instantly see the shared traits and would know where you're going with it.. Again, the reference was spot on. It did the job. It immediately caught my attention as I started to go over their similarities and personality flaws they share. Traits that distinguish the Luciano's from the Casso's, the Gambino's from the Gotti's and the Nadu's from the Xavier James's or whatever your persistent troll/critics name is. Don't give this guy or others like him any more of your time-- although it can be quite entertaining to hear you shred them. Ignore the negative. Yes, it used to be very powerful and strong but last decades lost that power. Now, it's times of cartels and gangs, but Italian mafia had that style which was lucrative for many. Maybe, because of Hollywood made a lot of movies about it.
The show is very good the content is excellent in the early 80 if you hung around the pool at the ocean colony you chould see a few bad actors hanging around. There a few here in bayridge now days but man I just love your show almost as love as much as the gardens.

I think he meant in the sense that nobody ever talks about it or even brings it up in conversations about gangster flicks. You have to be a real fan of the genre and/or looking for it specifically. It's a damn shame too because it really is one of the most well produced and performed biopics to this day. I watched it the first time with a bias not wanting to enjoy it because of how praised it is in niche circles if you can believe it, I assumed it was probably just people copycatting other people's opinion or attempting to look cool by praising a film that most people haven't even heard about before. I get it now though, it's one of those rare movies I can watch over and over again without getting bored

Any way you slice it, Mancuso seems to be clutching at straws to attempt to portray himself as powerful but it's almost laughable how far the Bonnano Family has been weakened. Have to disagree Gotti HBO was underrated. It may have been under viewed, but those who watched it rate it highly.
I think he meant in the sense that nobody ever talks about it or even brings it up in conversations about gangster flicks. You have to be a real fan of the genre and/or looking for it specifically.
It's a damn shame too because it really is one of the most well produced and performed biopics to this day. I watched it the first time with a bias not wanting to enjoy it because of how praised it is in niche circles if you can believe it, I assumed it was probably just people copycatting other people's opinion or attempting to look cool by praising a film that most people haven't even heard about before. I get it now though, it's one of those rare movies I can watch over and over again without getting bored
