I think you choose an awesome kit. Old legos have that nice and minimal design, perfect for those things. Also, It's perfect for really young kids or babies, both because the problem in common legos is the ingestion of the small pieces, and also because the size of tge result is perfect for them I apreciate your passion for legos, hope all the hours you spent on it will be repayed
maybe work with someone that has a bigger printer and make it a bit bigger and make it into a real kart for kids ! looking at that huge lego kart is so cool :D
Hey Matt! Those Bricks are huge! I like the model a lot! One tip for the bigger version would be, that you cut the 2x8 plate in half and use acetone to join the two parts back together. Also, for strength you could try to model into those two halves some resecces and some pins. (hope you understand me, i didn't know the right word ^^ )

Wow. Surprised you used ABS. I had / have issues with the edges pulling away, too. will have to try the Brim to keep them down next time. What did you do to manage layer adhesion as the pieces grew in height? Do you have an enclosed printer or a heated room?

As I imagine that will be best printed on a direct drive. I ordered a prusa mk3 to get into printing. Sick of waiting for delivery and picked up an ender 5 plus yesterday.
Perhaps I missed it but what size nozzle did you use and how many mm/s? Some of the times you quoted seemed quite fast given the size of the objects. Well done!
Awesome - thanks for the details! That's making more sense to me. Biggest extrusion I've done is 0.5mm with 0.3mm height. This was such a cool project!

Awesome project! I was inspired to do the same thing with a small print-farm, only smaller (because Prusa i3 has a smaller print bed). Did you get the models from printabrick.org, or somewhere else? Some of the models from printabrick need fixing before they can be printed properly.
Jeroen Bouwens Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I got the parts from various places. I will be releasing the STL files soon, many of the parts need fixing or creating from scratch. The standard bricks I have SCad files that generate the bricks, again I found these on line but had to fix them for the scale I was working at. I'll include them when I upload the STL files.

Correct me if this won't work but of I print both sides to the tire housing separatly (In two pieces) I should be able to put them in the tire on both sides and then glue them to the tire from their. I hope this makes sense and please correct me if this won't work. :)

Hi. Correct. I print the wheel in two parts anyway, but yes you could assemble with the printed tyre, although the fit might be slight right as I’m not sure I left any clearance. Worth a go though and I’m sure some fettling would make it fit.
Motorize it! Even though your nephew cant ride it, it would still make an awesome RC car!

The best part is that those parts aren't just cheap replica's, but upscaled pieces that look like actual Lego. And you can build the kart with them.

Nice. I added a UPS to my 3D printer after a similar power outage, and it has saved a couple of big prints from failing.

Hi. At a guess I think the tyre is about 100mm diameter. Yes direct drive for flexible filament 👍

Well you have to go slow with flexible. But with a 95 TPU about 8 hours I think

Dan Keller 0.5mm nozzle, 0.4mm layer height, 20% infill, 60 to 80 mm/s print speed, dual perimeter, two bottom and three top layers...

Hi. The way I have cad these up, and assuming you’re using my files it needs to expand. But you could re-cad the tyre so you could print solid.
