I just said out loud "he's so cute" while watching. I sure wish back in the day that we had You Tube to watch videos whenever we wanted. Boy, are we spoiled now. I'm thankful, though, that we have these great videos. 👍

He's so down to earth and sexy...the cowboy look from the "Jump Up" period really suited him.

Bryant Gumble was a good interviewer. He didn't have questions before hand ready and stuck to it, the listened and had a CONVERSATION that made people who were being interviewed feel like they were talking to a friend

When the interviewer asked him “how close is [your image] to what you are, all I can think of is Taron Egerton screaming, “they don’t want Reginald Dwight,” they want Elton John!”

Is it just me or does Elton always seem so sad in these early 80s interviews?

Ah okay. I assumed it was the drugs, but I didn't know if like it was something else. I just feel bad for the guy sometimes becuase I know he suffered depression and bulimia and many other things :(

Well he got married 2 years later.. to him, being #1 in the charts was absolutely everything, and he knew that his chart positions had suffered as a result of his coming out as bisexual so to turn things around he took the drastic step of getting married thinking that would fix everything up. EJ was completely obsessed with the chart positions and sees his value in terms of where his records come out.

I agree, feel so bad for him battling depression all his life😥 It' a terrible illness! He had surgery for polyps on his vocal cords, this is not exactly an uncommon procedure for singers who are constantly pushing their vocal cords to the Limit! He had always seem to be something of a lost soul, struggling with his personal life, which certainly couldn't have been easy for him. As I watch all of these past interviews and videos in preparation for his movie Rocketman😁 I realize just how much I missed following him during that period of time. I think he was the cutest and most brilliant guy in his mid to later twenties when he had that mischievous little side to him and had to become nothing but more handsome in mature throughout his 30s and 40s! Okay not in the costumes, but his suits and tails in his hat. .. I swear I definitely would have had a crush on him!

It’s very interesting to hear him speak about himself in the 3rd person. I’ve seen other people say the same thing.
He really distances himself from “himself”.
