Rob before you make the carbon fiber body panels PLEASE take this to a wind tunnel and make sure everything is how you like it, it will show you and dead zones and high pressure zones and I think that would help, especially if you plan on doing half mile runs

Hi Rob. Not sure if this has been discussed but have you seen the issues Bugatti had with tyre valve stems at high speeds. The centrifugal force on the stem amounted to many kilos squshing the stem down towards the rim, in addition the force would open the schrader valve deflating the tyres. Just a thought now you have larger wheels and are talking of 200mph+. Keep safe - CK.

@Rob Dahm I know it would be overkill at this point but, Andrew Brilliant of AMB-Aero does a lot of aero work for world time attack cars (WTAC) and offers services at different price points.....the awesome part about your build is he usually has to model the car to do Aero-SIM work but, since most of your car is has been modeled (by yourself), he can work on the aero package remotely.....in the future he could be a valuable assets to request services from when designing the 4-rotors final body / aero package in Carbon fiber.

Rob Dahm you should use some screws that are meant for drones that you turn and they pop off and stay on the body piece. And they stay secured like regular bolting. I feel like it would go well with the build
Crystal clear lights, Rob what are you going to do to counter vertical lift as they had some LMP1 cars in LeMans that at speed because of the flat floor took off and well lets say some drivers ended up with a broken back, to stop this they had to put vents on the wheel arches.
At Home Depot they sell a red colored saw blade for a circular saw that’s a high speed steel blade”can’t remember the brand”, they are about 40$ and cut aluminum and steel roofing like crazy just a recommendation for when the bandsaw is down
With the bottom of the car covered by plating do you have to worry about drive terrain components getting hotter than they usually would without the airflow underneath the vehicle?

So for you and Isaiah (sp?) Cutting aluminum with a jigsaw is super fast and easy... But you have to keep the blade clean and not gummed up. Pick up some aluminum specific cutting fluid. I like A9, but there are others. Run a small line of the cutting fluid along your cutting path and I promise you that your cuts will go by so quickly and effortlessly and your blades will last seemingly forever. It's find of ridiculous how much difference it makes when cutting thin aluminum sheet. 😂
I'd say whichever looks best with the tail and head lights he has, so they look more like a matched set. Clears might look out of place, but they can be easily swapped depending on how the car looks when it's painted.

look into blown defusers, for when ur revisiting the aero after the race.
Probably a little difficult with the engine all the way up in the front though

Band saw tip: When you get a new blade made get three or four. You can also make them yourself, most CNC tool suppliers carry the raw blade stock.
