  • On August 5, 2021, Frank East passed away at the young age of 21 after battling a bizarre, aggressive cancer for a year and a half. Throughout the battle, his family, especially his parents Kirk and Christy, believed that God would fully heal him, even preparing to pray for resurrection. What they got has filled their future with peace and hope, and robbed death of its sting.

I totally identify with this couple. I wrote about losing my daughter in part 2.
    Very interesting title!
I actually tattooed this on my shoulder (long time ago!)
because Jesus saved me from death several times after crying out to Him to save me!
    (Heart attack, sceptic shock, etc.)

P.S. I wasn’t able to add in an edit in my post that whats so helpful for me is that they didn’t slide into deep doubt, anger, lose faith, go dark and let the enemy destroy them. Amazing level of spiritual maturity. Thank you for sharing such a difficult journey!

Christy and Kirk have what feels like PERFECT unshakeable faith to me. Their strength and courage is stunning, but the story has left me with doubt in that only “maybe” a prayer will get answered, maybe not - even with their level of faith. I DO UNDERSTAND God has His reasons, but we are being told and taught we have this AUTHORITY - when apparently it’s not that clear that we always do.

I’ve experienced some of these things in my marriage! My prayers lately have been to learn and to know the authority I carry! This testimony was very inspiring.

I was thinking that when Jesus told Frank they are praying for you to come back, I'm sure Frank said no way. Once you are in the presence of Jesus you don't want to leave.

I didn't share this detail in this recording, but your comment made me remember, that when one of the people who came to pray resurrection with us, Harve, got the phone call asking him to come, he had two questions. First was "how old is individual who died?" he was told Frank was 21. The second question was, "Was he a Christian?" he was told, yes. Harve's response was, "That makes it harder sometimes." He meant that when praying for resurrection, there are more success stories when the individual did not know Jesus, because when a Christian dies, they don't usually want to come back.

That's my thoughts, not to be casting an insult at you. I personally would never consider praying for resurrection of a believer. I have lost love ones that was ready to stand before God, it hurt to lose them and at the same time gloried in their entrance into heaven. Peace and love to both of you.

@@phillipoverstreet9077 I understand that thought process. I was being obedient to what God asked me to do and He confirmed in showing my mom and sister He was asking us to pray resurrection.
