- Biodynamic agriculture is a form of alternative agriculture very similar to organic farming, but it includes various esoteric concepts drawn from the ideas of Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925). Initially developed in 1924, it was the first of the organic agriculture movements. Who Was Rudolf Steiner? Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), founder of the biodynamic approach to agriculture, was a highly trained scientist and respected philosopher in his time, who later in his life came to prominence for his spiritual-scientific approach to knowledge called “anthroposophy.” Long before many of his contemporaries, Steiner came to the conclusion that western civilization would gradually bring destruction to itself and the earth if it did not begin to develop an objective understanding of the spiritual world and its interrelationship with the physical world. American Ginseng on todays planting schedule. I've got shade in the back. Thinking about pellet "seed bombs" for a slingshot. Herbs, medicinals, grains, fruits, asparagus, etc. Project your garden into the wilderness and see what grows. In 5 years those areas may save your life.
I have always buried fish remains in the garden after I fillet them. Most everything I grow does really well.
When I had pet goldfish, I'd dump the water and fish poop I vacuumed out of the bottom of the tank (when cleaning it) into the garden. I also purchased fish emulsion. Works good.
Fish emulsion works really good but you have to be careful with it, because if it is not deluted properly it will burn your plants right up.

Steiner is truly large soul with wide body of knowledge and inner experience. Similar cosmic initiate as Nikola Tesla. Both were born just 5 years apart in Croatia (it was province of XIX century Austro-Hungarian Empire), geographically some 40 miles from each other. Both were educated in Austria, which was strong intellectual center with perfect ground to allow further development of true seekers. Steiner is massively under-appreciated, given the depth of his teachings. Quite similar as Tesla. Both gentlemen will be more and more recognized as times passes.

Even if u don't get all of this now, watch, absorb and let that grow - that's what we do! Nice to see things cooking in the garden Diamond - you have excelled!. So much from such a small area. If ppl just tried a little of this way, they would be converted (and less gym fees!). If large pastoralist's and crop growers tried it, every town in their watershed would notice the difference in water, air and quality of life. First sign of success is the return of the missing birds and bees - then it's sweet! U have then created an oasis from the chemical world. Abundance be yours! :)

If you are living in the city, even a big garden not allows to keep pigs or chickens. Some solution is to keep fish pond and don't use filters at all. Water from the bottom is perfect fluid fertilizer for all plants. Collect water from roof. Keep cat at garden - you'll have bumble bees.
I’m not to a permaculture level yet, but I have begun seed saving. My plan is to stop buying seeds in 3 years.

Back in the ‘70s I got a book called “Biodynamic French intensive gardening” written by Alan Chadwick. I was one of the first in my area to use raised beds. It cut out of a lot of weeds and grouped compatible vegetables.

The fungal symbiosis will be blocked by your plants if you use too much manure. Also you're getting toxic, natural chemicals in manure and urine which even a properly hot compost will not readily remove. Too much compost or manure can quickly ruin mineral balance in the soil and then vegetables won't grow. I have made this disastrous mistake and it's taking years of work towards repairing it.
Use the preps! BD 500 be good for your soil. Check out Josephine Porter Institute.
