- Here are the biggest Airport Developments in Southeast Asia, which are approved or currently under construction.
The Philippines, Sangley Point International Airport.
The development of the $11 billion Sangley Point International Airport has moved a step closer to reality, now that its private sector proponents have finally signed the development agreement with the local government of Cavite.
With the signing of the agreement, the group is ready to commence the work necessary to finally implement the long-needed infrastructure project that aimed at providing a premium gateway that will initially serve as an alternative to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
U-Tapao Eastern Aviation City, Thailand.
Thailand is investing nearly $9 billion in its aviation city project, known as U-Tapao Eastern Aviation City. This is one of the country's largest megastructure projects. The massive investment from the Thai government is planned to revamp the historical U-Tapao airport to become a new international airport occupying approximately 1,040 hectares of land.
A new passenger terminal building will also be connected to the revamped airport, primarily serving low-cost flights with a dab of full-service carriers, connecting passengers to flights to Don Muang Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport. But the massive size of land occupied won't just include one terminal building, as the construction plans also include a free trade zone for commodities, a flight training center, and an aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul center.
Techo International Airport, Cambodia.
The Techo International Airport is a greenfield airport, whose construction is currently about 50 percent complete, and is scheduled to commence in early 2025. Located in Kandal province, 30-40km outside of the capital city of Phnom Penh.
The project covers 2,600 hectares making it one of the world's largest airports by land area. It will also include support facilities for residential and commercial areas, making the airport’s vicinity a new property hub once fully operational.
New Siem Reap International Airport, Cambodia.
The new Siem Reap Angkor International Airport will officially begin operations on October 16, with non-commercial and non-profitable test flights set to be conducted from October 5 to 15.
All commercial passenger and cargo flights currently operated at the existing Siem Reap International Airport will be transferred entirely, and one time only to the new facility on October 16.
The $1.1 billion-worth airport is located around 40km east of Siem Reap City center. The airport - which will be built on 750 hectares, with a terminal area spanning more than 80,000 square meters and 38 gates, will be able to accommodate about seven million passengers annually.
Long Thanh International Airport, Vietnam.
Long Thanh International Airport, located in Dong Nai province, about 40 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, aspires to become an advanced international airport to meet the growing demand for air travel and increase passenger convenience in Vietnam.
The $4.6 billion initial stage of the airport’s construction in Dong Nai Province is scheduled to be completed by 2026, with a capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo. The project includes runways, terminals, supporting facilities, and the development of the surrounding area.
New Manila International Airport, Philippines.
San Miguel Aerocity Incorporated has reached at least 75 percent completion of land development for the New Manila International Airport. The builder of the soon-to-be largest gateway in the Philippines is accelerating land development with the goal of starting civil works next year.
The $15 billion Airport City development project is expected to start commercial operation by 2027, with the terminal one will be erected by the first quarter of 2024. Phase 1 of the project which includes a passenger terminal building with airside and landside facilities, an airport toll road, and one runway will facilitate around 35 million passengers a year.

Long Thanh International Airport will solve the overcrowded problem of the old Tan Son Nhat Airport of the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The airport will be move to Dong Nai - a satellite Province of HCMC Metropolitan Area and Long Thanh (where the airport is being built) will develop as a satellite city, creating more opportunities, services and commerce and thrive the area. By having new airports in our country will boost the aviation connection to different places around ASEAN communities and worldwide. Love from Vietnam 🇻🇳
Long Thành International Airport has just Opened in this month. The Contractor are Joint-Venture VIETTUR (Turkey) including six Contractors
These 2 Manila airports should be able to handle more non-stop flights from anywhere throughout the world, especially with their upgraded planes that allow their ultra-long haul capabilities. Major European airports and more airports in America should get non-stop flights to several Philippine-based airports that also include airports not limited to Cebu and Clark. I think any Philippine-based airline would get an Emirates-level upgrade for customer service and the people flying to these airports regardless of the origin of any major airport worldwide.

If the two new airports serving Manila are done, I'm predicting destinations that will link Manila in the future. However, not all new destinations will serve both airports, but they still retain Istanbul, Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto-Pearson, and New York-JFK like NAIA. Here are my predictions of new long destinations in Europe, Canada and the US: London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick, Manchester, Paris-CDG, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin Brandenburg, Zurich, Copenhagen, Rome-Fiumicino, Vienna, Athens, Seattle, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston-Intc'l, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Chicago-O'Hare, Detroit, Washington-Dulles, Newark NJ, Boston, -Calgary,- and Montreal-Trudeau. About my prediction of destinations from 2 new Manila airports, are there any other destinations to add and takeaways for not choosing those destinations?
@@CrystalClearWith8BE I also think Emirates will use their A380 in these new Manila airports.
I also think that once the Clark Airport expands, it will receive all of these aforementioned new destinations worldwide, the existing NAIA destinations, and others as needed.
About the international airlines that will serve the two new airports serving Manila, other than Emirates, Qatar Airways, Ethiad, and Turkish Airlines, just to name a few international airlines that serve the existing NAIA, I wish new international airlines will link the two airports such as Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, Swiss Int'l Air Lines, Iberia, KLM, United Airlines, Delta Airlines, and Air Canada (not gonna include American). This is what I have and are there any airlines I forgot to mention or will I take away some of those airlines?

The New Manila International Airport (NMIA) in Bulacan should have direct flights between NMIA and all of the United Airlines and Delta Airlines hub airports and the furthest direct flight would be an 8,700-mile direct flight between NMIA and Atlanta.

You forget to mention in your lists, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Indonesia.
Once it finishes its revitalization of terminal 1 and 2, each from 9 million to 21 million passengers a year, and build a terminal 4 along with its fourth runway, it will accommodate 110 million passengers a year.
My personal experiences in many big airports in many countries is that I have to walk very far and it is a tiresome walk
May GOD bless and protect not only one country but the entire World and, may the success of one country become the key to bring success to all other countries. This may only happen if the personal or national Interest will not play great role in helping and in working together as Team among World Leaders . If this amazing Outlook will be practiced, there will be no mre extreme poor country and extreme rich country. Happiness and peace will fill the Earth.
It must be the main job of World Leaders to be the Model or good example to inspire their people to be good citizens.
The good and wise President of a country may have a great influence to inspire the rich or extreme wealthy citizens to work with him in improving the lives of the poor and extreme poor citizens .

Reclamation projects in Manila Bay will be put into shelves further, too much toll for the marine environment. Instead, just support the new Airport now being built in Bulacan.. this is much nearer to the reality rather than to this Sangley Point, where numbers of years wont even enough to materialize. Peace
Thanks for watching, stay connected for more related content.
Looking forward to Bulacan International Airport, roughly just 25-35km away from heart of Metro Manila to be completed, when completed by 2030, it will handle more capacity than NAIA did, it will be 50M+ Passengers per year initial capacity, then, it will be expanded to handle more capacity than Atlanta Airport. This airport should be connected to NLEX through a spur expressway, if going to Eastern Bulacan, Philippine Arena, Eastern Pampanga, Tarlac, Clark, Baguio, Ilocos, and Northern Luzon, C6 expressway, if going to Rizal province, or eastern Metro Manila, Skyway if going to SLEX, Southern Luzon, and Metro Manila, and Roxas Boulevard through R-10 extension if going to Cavite, Mall of Asia, Bataan, Western Pampanga, and Subic, all coming from this airport, also, there will be train connection, like this airport will be connected to PNR elevated rail/NSCR, and Line 7.
If completed, former NAIA will be either closed down, and turned into a central park/plaza like Kai Tak Airport, or converted to domestic airport only like Gimpo Airport.

WOW.......
Sangley opening will be delayed until 2033. The current airport in Manila will have private partners with a new contract for the next fifteen years. With New International airport at Manila at Bulacan opening in late 2028. Do they really need three airport in Manila. How much business will Sangley operate with Philippine Airlines only. Who is going to finance Sangley.
Thanks for watching, stay connected for more...
Mayŕoon din sa CLARK maganda din at malaki,
"Do they really need three airport in Manila." do you mean LUZON????
@@mellietormis4158that’s too far from Manila and is not feasible for an alternative airport for the Manila area. This new airport in Bulacan will have the capacity to expand to Atlanta levels of total passenger count and have flights almost anywhere throughout the world making this a popular airport for those going to and from the Philippines.
NMIA would serve to compliment NAIA. SPIA would serve to replace NAIA. NAIA then would end up as a new CBD.

Vietnam- 5,000 hectares
Philippines - 2,500 hectares but yet the largest in ASEAN?
Total land area of Manila Airport City is 12,500 ha. Interms of Capacity PH maximum capacity is 200K
For Vietnam they will replicate the existing project into 4 times or 4 phases thus they need a much bigger space for future development …as for NMIA the projection is 100M to 200M capacity in a single project/location…it’s an aero city it includes residential and industrial zones and the airport complex thus they only need 2500 hectares of land to develop…try to understand the video 1st before commenting yah!😂

@@hakhaimo Singapore's Terminal 5 being built now will *double* the size of the existing airport. And probably cost more than any of the new airports shown here.
@@huaiwei The one for terminal five is only about 1,000 hectares and cost only 10 billion US dollars, where one of the airports listed here, for ex, the New Manila International Airpott, it is built in initially a 2,500 area with 16 billion USD budget. It's time for the neighboring countries to surpass Singapore, hopefully in 10 to 20 years.
@@hakhaimo unfortunately for you, successful airports are not measured by how big the land area is, or how expensive they are. It is measured by actual passengers numbers, how much revenue they generate, and how much awards the airport receives which rubs off on the overall positive feel about the country.
There are plenty of huge airports out there which are largely empty, irrelevant, and white elephants which do not contribute significantly to the country's economy or image, and your new airports are headed that way if nothing significant changes in the way your country is run, or the way your society thinks and works.
You cannot wish for anyone to surpass Singapore without outdoing what Singapore does since 1981, just because you think it is time. ;)

So many rendition on the New Manila International Airport....which is it really?!? PH started promising but now the rendition looks like a glorified Folk Arts Theater or even worse...
