Worlds of Wonder Teddy Ruxpin Toy Fair Sales Demo VHS 1986

- Toy Fair was held in New York City, New York in 1986. One of the featured toys was Teddy Ruxpin, created by Worlds of Wonder.
This VHS demo tape was sent to sales reps to promote Teddy to customers in their territory. It also incorporates several other non-animatronic companion toys and characters. This includes the bird-like Fobs that were hand puppets with a sock-like, extendable neck. Other hand puppets were the larger Wooly What's-It, three interchangeable Anythings (This, That, The Other), Tweeg, and L.B. The Bounder. Развлечения
I had no idea this would bring so much joy to people. I'm glad I uploaded it.
Just wondering why did you upload it?
@@Bandinthesky I have been going through old VHS and BETA tapes that I've collected over the years. My father was a sales rep for WOW and this has been stored away since 1986. I just figured there were people out there who would like to see something that may never have been seen before.
There's a second part to the tape but I'm going to post it separately because it's other WOW products unrelated to Teddy.
@@brianlee7226 yeah people have been seeking this footage for years at this point. Thank you so much for uploading this
@@teddyruxpinchannel4906 You pushing it man. You to more views then the original uploader. You didn't find it, the person who uploaded it did.
This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. Lost footage like this has been sought after for literal decades, if you have any more video, print, photos, anything! Please share it, it means a lot to those of us that grew up with these treasures ❤️
Fun Fact: The Mother Goose doll was used in the music video for “Japoney Apple” by PFFR (the creators of Wonder Showzen), speaking of Wonder Showzen, The late Will Ryan (voice of Grubby The Octopede) voiced the Letter P in the Health episode.
Thank you very much for this amazing archived footage! I do recall seeing that Charlie Brown prototype from some form of catalog but I didn't think that there would be any footage of him in action (which at the time i didn't even think he had electronics). This footage is very informative to understand more from the Worlds Of Wonder timeline of when things were originally made a prototype and then later on released (excluding Charlie Brown), so thanks again for this beautiful footage!
Teddy Ruxpin and all his friends brought so much joy to the lives of many children.
More Teddy Ruxpin! My body can’t handle this much
Holy shit never thought I would ever see this
I appreciate you posting this video. I've been repairing Teddy's off and on since early 2002 and I've never seen any promotional videos like this before. I've always kept an original Teddy around the house. I got one the very first year for Christmas of 1985 and growing up it was always my favorite toy.
Wow prototype Pamela looks so weird! Thanks for uploading this.
Dude I had this in the 80s and I forgot it at my cousins house then never saw it again. I was depressed for months over loosing him lol So cool thanks for the upload!
The way the presenter said Gutang made me think that she'd said Woo Tang, as in Woo Tang Clan.
My 80s toy I'm now 42 miss him dearly 😂
Very cool, I have owned most of the WOW displays over the years. I have modified a Mickey display to also power a Goofy using the circuit board from one of the Snoopy displays that was intended to have a Charlie Brown. These toys are still lots of fun to tinker with, it always seems possible to repair them and keep them going!
Yeah
When toys were made with love! Now we just have plastic ones.
Nice to see the Charlie Brown doll that never got released due to Worlds of Wonder's bankruptcy in action, even if he is somewhat ugly.
Yep
They almost got the toy rights to The Loud House (Nickelodeon) but the rights were given to Wicked Cool Toys instead (same with Teddy Ruxpin)
The ball room of the exact same hotel became a showroom for MGA Entertainment, Hasbro, Mattel, Wicked Room Toys and Spin Master
Mother Goose, voiced by Russi Taylor, used classic fairytales and rhymes to entertain and support children as they learned to read.
Love it. I gave my boy a teddy Ruxpin for Christmas.
I have decided to go ahead and list the entire marketing package and original VHS tape on eBay. Once I went through it all, I couldn't believe how much was there. Hope someone here will enjoy having it.
Im currently bidding on it and I will most certainly treasure it
Thanks man! I won the tape! thank you!
@@cookiepartyyy Sorry I had to outbid you, but i'm gonna make a video on it and scan every thing
Thank you for loading!!
This is the only standing up Teddy in existence.
Nice to hear an instrumental version of Syncopation Celebration near the end there.
Love the Mother Goose and the Teddy Ruxpin hand puppets. ❤️

Worlds of Wonder went bankrupt in 1988
Most of the toys were currently manufactured by various companies (Hasbro, Mattel, Funko, etc)
I only have one of these manufactured products which is a paperless board game that resembles Pictionary and requires batteries

They also released the Talking Mickey Mouse in 1987 but Disney caused the toy company to have a major downfall in 1988

Pamala looks and sounds diffrent. Is their another version of her?
I don’t think so. I think she was voiced by a real child in this footage.
