I'm absolutely obsessed with your channel! Just started my judo journey and I'm studying sambo along with it here in the United States. This is truly my favorite martial art.
I wish sambo was more popular. I miss training it.
I am a BJJ blackbelt and absolutely wish we did more of this, If I was a younger man I would find a Sambo class, I love this stuff.

Combat Sambo is awesome so complete, if you had limited time to train I think this Combat Sport gets you more bang for your buck!
One of the most complete combat disciplines for sure.
Unfortunately almost nowhere to train in the US. But this is all applicable. The gi grips will work in BJJ and can be adjusted for no gi. And the ground and pound strategies work well for MMA training

Sambo wrestling is definitely the highest level of submission wrestling currently found anywhere in the world. Has been so ever since 1950s.
Russians dominate throws for a reason. Wish these throws were legal in IBJJ.

@@BattleBeetle Is that because the knee touches the mat first? Here in America, in folk style, if the person throwing places their knee down first, it is not considered a slam.
@@kaifahdetoles3918 If you pause mid-air doing the takedown and then throw your opponent on the ground with force, it's considered a slam. But if you complete the big takedown all in one motion, it's legal.

There should be a No Gi and Gi category of Sambo competition
Sambo’s uniqueness is in its uniform. Taking kurtka off means creating a new grappling style, not Sambo. Maybe it would make sense from the point of Sambo popularization. But like I said technically it would be a complete different style.

Each single of those throws works in no gi. In fact, you don't really apply gi (kurtka) grips doing these techniques.
